Maddiemo, I changed the link, and so maybe it will work for you now.

Here's some dance, Texas style:

John Travolta:

Decades apart

Maddiemo, here a sketch that my friend Mark America did for a proposed Sylvester album cover:

This one was never finished, but Mark did complete other album covers for Sylvester:
Mark and I were very good friends in San Francisco, and I have several of his paintings, plus a few sketches and drawings. Mark also did a painting for the cover of Heavy Metal Magazine, which I have.

Can't leave out roller disco.

Don't believe this:

Talking Heads

This was a good year to see Elton John in concert.

Not sure if this is really a dance:

When they sing "Gummitwist ist einfach, und Gummitwist geht so..." at 1:38 they illustrate with fingers how to do the Gummitwist.

Here are better instructions. Have you played this game? This video appears to be in Schweizerdeutsch, which is a bit difficult for me to understand in parts.

Wow, love your friends artwork/album covers Lars! Sylvester’s responsible for the last time I had a proper boogie I think. It was last summer, and me and my two best friends were gathered to celebrate a birthday. That track came on and we just looked at each other and all said ’OMG I love this, DANCE!’ So we did, right there, all round her garden.

This one reminds me of a holiday in Ios (Greece)

Not sure if someone hasn't already shared these on Part 1:

Salsa, Cuban style

When I first heard this song in a disco in San Francisco, I thought it was about Aruba instead of Cuba. I only recently found out what it really is. They have another song "Que sera, mi vida," and I thought that was "Kiss it off, Evita," because the musical "Evita" was in town when that song came out.

This song reminds me Mardi Gras, New Orleans, 1977.

From the movie, Il Sorpasso:

This shows scenes from the movie. I've posted this before, but I'm posting it again because Nancy posted another song from this movie on Part I, Guarda Come Dondolo by Edoardo Vianello.

Here's another video of St. Tropez Twist with better dance scenes.

Deutsch-Amerikanische Freundschaft - Tanz der Mussolini

Maddiemo, the video you posted before Ini Kamoze does not play for me. What is the title? I can't see that either 😥

The party's over for the night....

Carol, I had forgotten all about the Gentrys - thanks for that.

Here are some more 1960s dance moves:

Thank you Lars and everyone! Very much enjoyed and enjoyable! Maddiemo thank you for the link to yours!

I always enjoy FNM but this one especially hit the spot, thanks everyone!

eta: even the disco songs were fun ;-)

I've also been very happy listening to all of the upbeat music - it has lifted my spirits!

It's not over yet...

And this:

"Do the hitchhike" (as illustrated in this live version)

Studio track - audio only

For some reason, The Nitty Gritty reminded me of "The Carlton"

How abt a slow dance thrown in every once in awhile? Smokey Robinson's Cruisin'. Makes me close my eyes and sway....

For a slow dance, here are some Russian ballet dancers with Greek music:

I used to go to a Greek restaurant in Santa Monica that had dancing waiters, but it's not there any more. Maybe if the food had been better, it would have survived.

Speaking of swaying...

And I was thinking of Zorba the Greek 😃

I love Bobby Rydell's version of that song, but I also like this Dean Martin/Julie London Electro Lounge-Remix

The Texas Tornados

And for a change of pace, one of my favorite musicians: Benny Goodman

From Stormy Weather:

Jumpin Jive - Cab Calloway and the Nicholas Brothers

Dating myself, but The Weather Girls

It's Raining Men

Lars, Stormy Weather? LOL! Appropriate and coincidental.

Back to Tejano music with SDQ:

Some dancing in the background. While I like this song, I feel no nostalgia for Nuevo Laredo - my least favorite border crossing, but it's where I used to catch the overnight train to Mexico City.

Some community smile spreading from The Muppets.

You are all a good influence! Just finished dancing and singing and listening just a bit after midnight here! Loved it!

"Do you remember last September, when I met you at a dance?"

"You were with a guy named Joe, and then all at once he said you had to go - I never even caught your name, oh yeah..."

Time to start part III, since we are over 50 now. I thought this was a marginal dance song, but it does mention being at a dance...

Final song for Part II

Party Part II is over!

Since "It's My Party," I decided that this would be a better ending:

Anyway, here's a link to Part III
