Brown Couch/ grey walls - what colors to get for console and table

We are currently painting our house a lighter grey color which at night looks a bit darker grey (crushed ice for those that know of sherwin Williams colors). There was a brown couch left for us that we plan to keep, it’s an L-shaped brown dark brown. We have a lay-z-boy recliner in a lighter brown shade. We have a matte black ceiling fan going in today, industrial looking with Edison bulbs. Flooring is a lighter shade of brown.
Our dilemma is figuring out what color tv console and coffee table to get because we want to lighten up the room as much as we can but, with the current furniture I feel like it’s hard to switch up the colors.
We want a fireplace tv console and a lift top coffee table.
Any help is appreciated!

IMO gray and brown do not play well toghether and you need to post pics of the space. I hate edison bulbs they provide crappy light and will cast a yellow glow on everything so the colors you have will lok very different You lightne a space with lighting so work on that and the first spot is the fan cjange the bulbs to LED 4000K .

Yeah I’ll have to post once I’m home pictures of everything. We do have recessed lighting in the room which has led’s, it’s very bright with them on. They’ll be on a dimmer switch.

Thanks ya'all. Update: Green is one of my accent color - i found some green pillows that looked amazing with black and white(cream actually) Who knew? Now I am just stuck with choices for curtains. I do like the idea of chocolate colored drapes but am afraid that would be too much brown considering I have brown tables, the couch has brown legs. The style of the room is not traditional but not quite contemporary either. The room that kathy posted is very elegant, love the color. That and the cappucino are top contenders in my mind. Since i cant afford to go custom with my drapes and have no sewing skills whatsoever I am at the mercy of PB, JCP, BBB and Linens & Things for available colors in curtains. After working with about a dozen samples, we are going to use BM Waynesboro Taupe (which has gray in it) at 50% for our LR, DR and Hall. We have new brown patterned chairs and Light Tan sofa (looks RH'ish). Our decision was based on the fact that we wanted a grayish taupe with more brown because of the chairs. It takes off in different colors according to lighting. In DR, it looks more gray, in LR, it looks more brown which is ok for us since the dining room chairs have brown and teal cushions and the LR sofa is more light a linen tweed with gray weaved in. Give it a try. Acutally, I think it would be a good starting point since your sofa is brown.

Well, something's got to give. Either both girls get a recliner and parents are SOL, or you choose a layout that is attractive and sensible for the room as a whole and no one reclines lol. Or only those with a medical need recline ;) The first pic you posted in the last batch, with the two white sofas and two grey chairs, would work really well in your room. One of the chairs could recline. If you wanted you could use a sectional in place of the two white sofas. That's similar to what I was suggesting above. If you have an ottoman to put your feet up on would your younger daughter feel that was fair? Or would it make your husband more comfortable with saying, "life's not fair kid"? NOT giving parenting advice here.

I’m following this post because I have the same issue with my living room — dark brown couch and very dark floors — brown overkill! Can I ask for more specific advice, if possible? Should my rug be mostly ivory, with tan accents? Or will the tan color bring in more “brown?” Should I paint the brown wooden top on my fireplace white to eliminate some of the brown in the room?
