What is the most realistic lamiate wood flooring
Comments (4)Which wood species would you like the laminate to imitate. If you don't mind a rotary peel oak floor, Bruce Glen Cover 3" wide Engineered Wood Flooring many times goes on sale for $2.99/Sq. Ft that my neighbor's had glued down at $2.00 sq. ft plus the cost of the glue, quarter rounds and transition pieces. The floor in the butterscotch color is very nice. I am going with the BR-111 Brazilian Cherry Triangulo engineered wood flooring. Do a search for Brutuses and you will see her beautiful and very realistic Bruce Park Avenue Laminate Floors in almost a 5" with plank. If I was going to go with Laminate floors I would have chosen the Makore or the Pradoo "species" of the Bruce Park Avenue Laminate Flooring....See MoreConsidering wood-look ceramic tile or wood-look vinyl
Comments (10)I have both tile floors and vinyl floor areas in my home. Tile wins! The tile is easy to clean and l still looks new after 20 years. No grout issues since we used a grayish brown grout (the tile is taupe). Never sealed it. We recently priced out some wood look tile plank for the family room. It is pricey, could almost do a wood floor for the same and after the prep work it may well end up costing more than hardwood. But I love the ease of upkeep with tile, we're putting in radiant floor heating and we like having big dogs. That makes tile much more practical than wood for us and I detest cleaning vinyl. We don't have issues with walking/standing on tile because we wear shoes. I wear flipflops in the summer and rubber soled slippers in the winter so my feet are cushioned. This is going to go against all the "expert" advice on keeping tile floors clean. Don't fuss about it. Choose a neutral grout and use nothing but a damp mop of warm water. You don't need special cleaners, steamers etc. In fact more grout is damaged by over zealous cleaning than anything else in my opinion. We'll be doing a white floor in our hall bath most likely. I plan to use a nice medium silvery gray grout....See MorePorcelain tile that looks most similar to white oak hardwood floors?
Comments (5)Try searching for European Oak. The colour you are showing is more commonly seen with European Oak. You will need to search the internet for photos then find the maker of the tiles AND THEN you find the closest retailer who carries the manufacturer. They probably won't carry the EXACT tiles but if they carry the brand you can special order the product. Right now the pale wheat colour is not very popular in wood-look tiles. It might come in...but it might not. Be aware that if you find a manufacturer you are most likely looking at a special order and special orders carry special price tags. They cost more and they rarely have the option to cancel or back out of the order. A quick Bing search for European Oak wood look tiles shows this: https://www.wayfair.ca/home-improvement/pdp/supreme-tile-birch-glazed-6-x-36-porcelain-field-tile-mxem1395.html It is very close to what you want. With that price tag, that is going to be a VERY expensive installation. But it looks very close to the COLOUR you want. Remember: the colour is more important than the 'wood species' the tile is trying to mimic....See MoreI'm looking for a realistic alternative to wood cladding.
Comments (20)@Beth H. This wood siding looks phenomenal. I have the best installer that knows all the rules on how the accoya wood needs to handled and installed... stainless screws and nails, there needs to special spacers used wherever the wood touches the substructure. Let me know if you ever need his name. Look at that cut in dryer vent! A word of warning, the only west coast rep for the wood, Laarni Benabese is not trustworthy. If you must go through her get everything in writing from her and ReSawn siding. Not sure if the company itself is as bad as she is. She guaranteed me certain lengths up to 16 feet, in writing, but when the truck arrived... it was nothing but 8 footers! How I wish I would have recorded her calls as she was trying to gaslight me later. I thought about suing at least in small claims court. A recording would have helped but you know... the wood looks great even with seams on wider sections. I will let it go....See More- last month
