Christmas Baking: Cookies, part 1

Onward and upward, to cookies. My family likes cookies. A lot. I start making cookie dough in November and freezing it in portions so they can be baked in the days before Christmas and always be fresh. This year we had a bout of nostalgia going, I guess, because most of the cookies were just "plain, old fashioned" choices. Grandma's Chewy Molasses always makes the cut, as do the flourless Peanut Butter cookies I make every year. Of course, we can't leave out the Sugar Cookie Cutouts, that just wouldn't be Christmas. We also had Chocolate Mint, Chocolate Chip, Maraschino Cherry Shortbread and Oatmeal.

The grandkids will frost and decorate and my oldest granddaughter is 17, she is going to come to bake even more cookies for gifts for her friends. That will be part 2, I think.

Here are the lovely pink Maraschino Cherry Shortbread, drizzled with some green tinted white chocolate and sprinkled with green sugar because my grandkids think you just can't have enough sugar...
