I love my Temperpedic pillow

My Dad had one. When he was in the hospital and my aunt and I were taking turns sleeping with Mom, we used the My Pillow. We hated it! But I don’t know what kind it was.

I love my latex pillow, too. I actually got it for DH, but one day when I changed the sheets, somehow ”his”pillow ended up on my side of the bed. Purely by coincidence. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. He’s never said anything. He either is a prince of a guy or he didn’t notice. Probably the latter . . . Though the former is also true.

I spent my youth cutting up carpet foam and making these pillows....before Mike Lindell "INVENTED" them. ☺ (my mother sold them at the church craft sales) They're OK for floor pillows or dog beds. ☺ Only white goose down for us! We used to bring our pillows with us when we travelled. Oh...the before covid days.....sigh....

Funny, we all have our preferences. Goose down for me, I've used medium firm down pillows since I was a kid. I can't stand any version of foam or rubber and sleep poorly when I encounter one in a hotel.

I'd sleep on a concrete brick before I'd buy a pillow from that slimebucket, Lindell. But I only sleep on goose down.

Yes to down, and No to chopped foam for me. Macy's has good quality down pillows that aren't very expensive. I love mine.

Chopped foam hurts my ears when I sleep on my side.

chisue, it was me. Got to talking about it on a thread by Glenda or someone else complaining about neck and shoulder pains. I cannot help you with a selection. I just went to BB&B and bought whatever they had. Don't know if I even bought DH or my son the same as I bought myself. I only know that I went from getting up every morning hurting from the neck down and I no longer have any problems. My DH despises the commercials but he had to admit that he loves the pillow. As for the vitriol here, it never ceases to amaze and shock me. How is anyone to know what is in someone else's heart. The man went from being a drug addict, serving time in prison and finding God. After which, he became very successful. I say, more power to him......still don't like the commercials, but I love the pillow as does my Dh, my son, my hairdresser and several of my friends who all have found it helped their aches and pains.

My kids bought me My Pillows for Christmas a few years ago. I returned them and got my daughter the refund. Hated them.

I will say it took me several weeks before I began to notice the difference, but that's the beauty of the pillow, it's satisfaction guaranteed or money back. My son wasn't impressed at first, but I told him to stick with it. He wound up buying one for his SO.

So, just talking about the pillows, why do some people love the MyPillow and some hate them? My dad really did like his MyPillow, but my aunt and I thought it was like sleeping on a dictionary. Is it because he had a “guy” version?

I can't use down [serious allergies] pillows/anything and have been searching for a good pillow. I have/enjoy my my pillow. Anyone that can point the way to a better pillow, I am all ears.

No big mystery, comfort is subjective. Otherwise there wouldn’t be choices. My wife sleeps with two fluffy pillows, I’ll grab one, typically a thinner one. Who’s right?

I gave them two tries before I knew anything about them or him. First time I saw the commercial was a few years ago and ordered two for me and hubby. Put them on the bed and we both went, "what the hell!" They feel like lumps of foam, there was no way to sleep on them. Sent them both back.

A year later, after seeing all the commercials, I decided to give them another try, thinking maybe we were sent a bad batch.

Only ordered for myself to see if it was better. Same thing, felt like sleeping on pieces of broken foam. Horrible!

I decided his commercial was a scam, selling pillows filled with broken pieces of foam.

We have always slept on down pillows. I pay a lot of money for them and thought maybe these 'My Pillows' were similar. Not even like the cheapest foam pillows. They are horrid and really are a scam.

Bought new down pillows and sleep very well.

I never use a pillow to sleep. I only use them to prop myself up to read or watch something. No tv in living room here.

Another one of those moments for me. You know, the “I don’t believe what I’m seeing and hearing” moments that have happened on an almost daily basis for the last four years.

I have one and I like it. But I didn’t know anything about this guy at the time I bought it. I would never buy another.

I've used one for about 5 years and love it. So does my son and his GF. My wife has to have down. Don't care for Lindell and I turn the channel anytime he shows up.

Georgysmom - I agree with you 100%. I probably wouldn't buy much of anything if I worried about the politics of the company selling the product. Gotta run now and pick up some Goya beans and a Latte at Starbucks.

I certainly agree about the obnoxious Mike Lindell. But back in July 2019, before I knew about his bizarre, politically-motivated statements, I was dealing with shingles on the back of my head and neck. To help with the nerve pain running down my arm I was advised to use a cervical pillow--one of those memory foam ones shaped like a wave. It helped, but memory foam can be far from soft, and about 5 hours was all I could handle each night. I looked on Amazon for a pillow I could switch to in the early morning hours to give my blisters some relief. I had several full-size down pillows, and a latex, but I wanted something small. I found a travel pillow by My Pillow.

I love this thing. My scalp sensitivity has continued to this day, and I still use the travel pillow the way I intended it. I also use it before sleep to read in bed. And I bought another for watching TV on the sofa downstairs. I like how I can scrunch it under my neck, or fold it, or do whatever I want with it.

I can't comment on the full-size My Pillow as I haven't used one. But I noticed the My Pillow line has expanded way beyond pillows and I suspect Mike Lindell's success has gone to his head, such as it is.

He made a good deal of money by patenting shredded foam rubber. It had been in use for decades but no-one ever thought of patenting it.

I would not do business with that guy. He is a slimy snake oil salesman who has publicly aligned himself with a force for evil and destruction. What a spectacular fool he was willing to make of himself!

There are a lot of pillows on the market that dont come with a big dose of idiocy.

One mistake that I made when buying some pillows is that I bought firm pillows, somehow thinking that they would last longer. That was not a good decision.

Pillows need to be replaced after some time anyway and these pillows are like rocks and are only good as bolsters when sitting up in bed. It is like resting your head on a rock.

Surprisingly, I have found the most comfortable pillows are ones that I bought at, of all places, Walmart! Yes, Walmart! Just the regular ones at Walmart. I was so surprised at how satisfied I was with them.

My pillows get a turn in the washing machine on occasion and a good air dry in the hot summer sun, like a spring cleaning. They do sometimes just need to be replaced. I keep double cases on them and I keep certain ones to only use for occasional company which is less and less and lesss..................

bpath - When someone intentionally presents a public image it‘s done for effect. That may be received positively or negatively. Both are fair game. This isn’t a case of “none of my business what they do in their private life.” But to answer your question, I would certainly hope you’d stop supporting a dog-kicker.

Is this guy a huckster? You bet. It's hardly surprising that he would respect the most skilled con in the game. I wouldn't have considered his spiel if I hadn't seen that some on the KT had liked the pillow -- despite not liking the 'sell'.

I've used down, down/feather, various foams, etc. For a while I was good with Allerease -- an inexpensive, washable, shredded fiber from Costco. I don't see them in the warehouse anymore, and mine are 'washed out'. Moreover, my arthritis is worse, with more neck, shoulder and arm pain. Looking for alternatives, but maybe not a $700 down and milkweed pillow. (Zalco's link!)

I'm going to re-try the 'cement' pillows that came free with our Amore latex/coil mattresses this fall. DH took to his immediately. They're some kind of shredded fiber; not washable. I think Amore gets $50 for a pillow. Maybe I need a *lower* pillow; none at all doesn't work.

Yikes, I had no idea that's what those pillows cost! My friend has back and neck issues, so I guess she is not price sensitive if the pillow gives her relief, but yikes, none the less.

Chisue, neck, shoulder, and arm pain is what led me to use a cervical pillow every night. If you're not familiar with them, they look like this:

Back sleepers (like me) use the lower side. It may be just what you need.

Also, when my shingles nerve pain was so severe at night that I couldn't sleep more than two hours at a time and was barely function from sleep deprivation, this video by two physical therapists felt like a miracle. I no longer need to support my arm with a pillow, but at the time it helped me enormously.

For 2 or 3 years now I've enjoyed my ROSENSKÄRM Ergonomic pillow, side/back sleeper 13x20, from IKEA. Less than $20 bucks, still good as new.

At the price, and with the descriptions of the product (sounds like the foam bits might shift overnight?) and varying reviews, I didn't want to try them.

My neck pain issues stem from an assault years ago. I'm a side sleeper. My PT's recommended that I learn to sleep on my back, but so far I haven't manage to do that. I found that the Ikea Rolleka pillow was just the right depth to support my head/neck in proper alignment, but overnight even this pillow that many complain was too hard (I didn't think so) would soften overnight and let my head sag. After wasting money on various cervical pillows, I gave up and have been sleeping on folded bath towels with a center of a bit of batting for just a little give. Works for me.

Bob & Brad (linked above) are great - their videos have helped my recover from a couple of different injuries and I am now religious about their posture recovery exercises!

I've heard more dislikes about them than likes. My brother bought one an he didn't like it either.

The chances of guessing right at any one time is 1 out of 2 and it changes from moment to moment. The guy gets turned off by whichever of us is closest to the remote.

My husband likes his My Pillow. I prefer a solid foam pillow.

I don't like any of my pillows. I think I should make my own. All are too plump. I have My Pillow also, a couple of them. My husband bought them.

Well, Elmer, I know I don’t have to research him, I have “seen“ him in action. So that leaves me knowing nothing about the manufacturers and sellers of my own pillow. Does it make a difference whether someone’s attitudes are in my face or not? I mean, it could come out in some odd way that the CEO of the company that made my wonderful pillow is a Stalinist cannibal. Oh dear, I hope that doesn’t happen; it’s time to replace the pillow and I really want the same one.

That's up to you. Everyone has personal ideas, preferences, opinions.

Anyone who uses their public exposure (of whatever kind) to express personal ideas that should remain private, especially such extremist and ignorant ones as he has, loses my business and earns my contempt. For me, this is the same as entertainment industry people who get off topic when being interviewed or on TV, Hobby Lobby and Chik Fil A-like companies whose owners exercise their hypocrisy, bigotry and hatred in their public conduct, and many others, same thing. They can do whatever they want and they deserve being shunned by people who resent and refuse to accept their "in the wrong place" comments or conduct motivated by extreme views that should remain private.

Alisande, I remember when you got that pillow and recommended it. I bought one after my chiropractor also recommended it and I love it!!! It might be a "getting used to it" kind of thing, but I really sleep well using it. Thanks for that recommendation.

I have never understood why some corporate entities and some heads of companies such as this one will take public political stands and forever taint their product.

I do agree with some the actions, such as when Walmart will quit selling ammo or guns or totally offensive t-shirts. Sure there are many who do not agree with it.

But, I dont agree when some do such as Target that endorses a celebrity figure that is apt to offend some people. It is just that it seems unwise to wade into political waters like that. For myself it is not whether or not I agree with the stance, it is just that they choose to make one that will define them for some that just seems so unwise.

I dont want my shopping to come with a whopping helping of politics, not even my own politics.

So there you go. They take a stand and it draws some in and it alienates others. Either they’re hoping for better than net zero, or they’re genuinely taking a stand despite the risk.

Like millions upon millions of others, I’ll voice some of my political opinions publicly on internet forums. I’d like to think that if I had a more public voice that could be influential and heard by a broader audience, I’d have the courage to speak up about things I feel are important. Are the media the only ones who should be filtering and adding their bias to our news and politics?

I won't vouch for them , and not sure I would buy them again. I have had mine for 6 or 7 years now (got them on QVC) they are over priced. but are still serving me well. I like that I can toss in the washer and the dryer with out problems.
