They weren't really barn dances
Comments (20)Marda, you brought back memories by sharing yours---- I used to dance the Polka with my Mom, too. We'd whirl around the restaurant floor, around and around! I could never dance it with a boy, though--- we'd get all tangled up and laugh! Mom and I would waltz together, also....happy sigh... Gandle, this sure is a fun post; thanks!...See MoreAs if the glued on flowers weren't bad enough!
Comments (77)Hoover Boo...nice blog you have. :) Originally, I saw your pic posted to the Facebook page of Succulently Urban. They gave no explanation of the photo, only that it was "courtesy of" your blog (pieceofeden). I had gone to your blog in search of the pic, but could not find it (not knowing where to search or what to call it). Now that I have seen that post on your blog...it explains a lot! I believe they are using real plants & dipping them (chromed steel you say), much like folks used to bronze baby shoes. Or cast in metal, as you say ~using real plants for the casting (as you noted it even having the cut on the leaf). Thank you for solving this mystery for me, hoovb!...See MoreAs if a home invasion on my road weren't bad enough.......
Comments (43)Oddly enough, I slept very well. I think it was a combination of getting up very early that morning, staying up rather late last night (because I was on edge), and the unseasonably cold temperature--"good sleeping weather." Jasdip, that's the way my Angel was. She was a Briard, the breed Thomas Jefferson brought from France to guard his sheep (or something). Angel never bit anyone, but she was extremely protective of me, and let people know she meant business. She even "spoke sharply" to my son once, when he was a young teenager. He had picked me up, and I was yelling, "Put me down!" :-) Janie, I appreciate the instructions, but I'm wondering if it's worth doing since the upper half of my front and back doors is glass. All they'd have to do is break it..... Dees, I know very well that you're not spouting nonsense, but not to worry. As I mentioned above, I used to have a close familiarity with guns. I did a lot of target shooting with a .357 (and ear protection) and various other guns. In fact, before terrorism reared its head, I used to take a rifle with me on the plane to Florida so I could target shoot with my dad. But it's been quite a while since those days, and I'm not at all sure I want to get a gun at this point. Maybe yes, maybe no. I need to give it some thought. Thanks, all!...See MoreDo you wish Thanksgiving weren't over yet?
Comments (13)No, I'm glad it's over. I basically spent it alone, until the evenings. DH and "the boys" were hunting all day. I was on call and so glad I didn't get called in while cooking the turkey. Then I had to feed them all for a couple days--they left Saturday night. The kids couldn't make it home. DS in UW-Madison band and they had a game Saturday and needed to be in Madison on Friday for practice, so they went to Gram's for dinner. I am so looking forward to Christmas, though. My whole family is coming on Friday and staying til Tuesday. Even though I will be on call, at least I'll have a bunch of people to celebrate with....See Morededtired
