Help picking a paint color for kitchen cabinets

I would like to lighten up this kitchen. It is North/East facing with one window on the North and one on East. I am thinking of painting the cabinets as they are maple with a very red cherry type stain. I am struggling with paint color. Should I do white? Not sure if the space is too small for all white? Should I do two toned- White on the top and something else on the bottom. We plan to change the counter tops to a light quartz and add a backsplash in either matching quartz or some type of subway tile all the way to the ceiling. We just redid the corner adding white bead board, a bench, and navy blue accents. My pictures are of the both spaces (cabinets and nook area). I also attached pictures of other parts of the 1889 Gambrel house (den and living room) so you can see the look of whole house. The kitchen is very sperate from the rest of the house. Thanks so much for any feedback!
