I will try to answer all your questions, but first I must thank citymomof3! I just went down into the basement to check what the color name was and found it flooded with an inch of water! So I just finished calling the plumber! :-( Not sure what the problem is, but I am sure it will be expensive! So.....will get the color name for you, but probably not today! Red, actually I have been starting to think the same. At first it seemed so bare, but after living with it for a week or so, it doesn't seem so bare. Will perhaps wait a little longer before deciding to add more. Sue, no I did not make the quilt. It was a lucky find at Penny's. I say lucky because lavender/purple is NOT the in color right now. Here is a close up of it. organic....I hate to admit it, but it is just a plain ceiling fan with a round globe. I am looking for a different light fixture or globe/shade for it. We need to keep the fan as this room has no heat and the ceiling fan does help circulate the warm and cool air depending on the season! hoosiergirl, yes I just love the set. I was so excited when we found it. There are 6 pieces altogether. The wash pitcher and basin, and mug a "slop" jar where the dirty water was poured into, and chamber pot and lid that was in the carpet picture. bungalow house, our home is 140 years old and guess what? I only have a trap door in the floor to get down to the basement, so....Here's hoping the plumber calls soon!!!! I guess I am on my way out to the shed to get the shop vac and start vacuuming up water and then bringing it up the ladder a 5 gallon bucket at a time! Gotta love these old houses! Marylu

Instead of centering the dresser on the long wall, move it to the left. The mirror and lamps are nice updates. That will open up the corner and allow you to place a small bench or blanket chest to the right of the dresser, and stack the two pieces of art above it, one over the other. A chair instead of the bench/chest would be nice, too.

My standing joke is that I've never lived with a guy, as defined above where guy=leaving things dropped or placed in wrong spots all over the house. I married a man who is neat as a pin which is a mixed blessing for someone who is also neat as a pin, because our children grew up in a bizarrely tidy and organized home. Have never seen him even leave a sock out, much less all the stuff in these pictures :). Actually it made the shock that much greater when I gave birth to a darling male child who grew into a guy! My daughter still laughs about how I always, every-single-time, made him pick up the shoes he tried to leave next to the back door and take them into his room-and where he got that idea I cannot fathom since he NEVER saw any one else do it. He lives with his fiancée now who says he is indeed a clothes dropper. She told me he can open the front door in full uniform (he's a law enforcement officer with the NPS) and in less than 30 seconds be in the kitchen which is ~ 30 feet away wearing only his boxers LOL.

Thank you all for your help back in February! I’ve finished the room, and here are the Before & Afters. Photos are hard to get in such a small space, but hopefully it gives you the idea! Same bed, new art. Same sheets, new duvet cover & blankets. And a new cleaner wall colour (SW Shell White). Mango wood drum bedside tables to soften the edges; salt lamps on dimmers to provide enough light for reading, and an Apple Homepod Mini to use as alarm clock & speaker. Cellular blinds instead of the sheers. And springtime outside, instead of winter. Tidy new closet door, and fewer objects on the walls (nothing except the two paintings above the bed). And last but not least, those alcoves are gone! The photo doesn’t do it justice, but now the wall just disappears, and the room feels bigger. Again, thanks for all your help! I really like how it turned out. If you see anything else that it needs or any style faux pas (… yes, like the even number of paintings above the bed), I’d appreciate your suggestions.
