Since you don't have any upper cabinets, have you considered long shelves with built in long led lights underneath? I don't have upper cabinets either, but on each side of the stove, I have one long open shelf. I spent quite a bit of money on two long led lights that I installed under each shelf. These give great workspace lighting. I also installed two swing arm lamps over the shelves that can easily swing and pivot in many directions.

Kichler has a great, versatile product called TaskWork LED Tape Light. The Kelvin temperature, in this case it is offered in 2700K, 3000K, 4000K, is actually referring to the warmth of the light, not the brightness. 2700K being a warm, yellowish light and 4000K being a cool bluer light. 3000K is a very pleasant, neutral tone used most often for task lighting. The lumen output is what refers to how bright the light will be. Kichler offers two versions of their tape, a low output offering 100 lumens per foot and a high output with 245 lumens per foot. Either can be put on a dimmable or a non-dimmable driver. There are also three types of the tape light for uses in different areas of your project. for the handles, may I suggest something to pick up on the hues in the flooring? A little more copper toned. you have light cabs, light floors. I think throwing in a dark ORB w/o actual copper highlights would be too much of a contrast. IMO. cypress park Sandra, I like the porcelain one better than the other one. Does the backsplash have to be done immediately? If the tones in the porcelain tile you picked clash w/the ivory tones in the counter, it could be a problem. However, I did find some copper toned ones that should be avail. these are porcelain/SS, and treated so as not to stain or tarnish. I LOVE these for your kitchen. timeless and gorgeous.
