IMO paint does not lighten a space , lighting is the answer I see one lamp and a ceiling light that does nothing too much furniture which BTW soaks upi light and you need to show the whole space. A chandelier above the table that actully lights the table is where I would start. Remove the buffet it does not fit in that space , that will alow for some lighting beside the sofa . I agree no gray but IMO the pale green from the rug would be avery nice choice for wall color.

Consider some recessed lighting. Chose the white Dove too. Best of luck❣️

Thank you everyone. Yes i bought a new ceiling light just not installed yet. I hope all will help to brighten a room. Unfortunately i cant add more windows, condo has 2 connected walls. And slowly will change a furniture for lighter colors. But at least need to start with walls paint.

White dove is a good choice and adding a new ceiling pendant will be a great addition. Make sure it feels light and airy/not too large

Once room is painted, I usually rethink accessories and have some suggestions as I’m sure you may feel the same.

I find the mirror over buffet is very heavy and once you paint, you may feel the same. Whatever you add there should compliment what is above couch and keep them light and simple

You could add new cushions as well, which will connect the entire space and rug

Thank you everyone who answer. Starting project on monday and still not make my final decision. We bought a new ceiling lamp. I read so many articles and all saying both colors is a good choice For dark rooms. thinking dilemma.
