I have an old processor that's hardly used, but I love love love my little red Cuisinart Mini-prep processor. I keep it in a drawer, it's that small. Makes great milkshakes and chopped veggies.

A hand mixer is all I need. If I baked bread several times a week I'd get a stand mixer.

We have a stand mixer but it's not used too much.

No air fryer or insta pot.

The only appliance on the counter is the silver classic Cuisinart 4 slot (wide slots) toaster that takes to long for toast.

I have an ancient KA stand mixer, a fairly old food processor (use both maybe twice a year) a mini food processor and an immersion blender (use both frequently), a hand mixer I use several times a month, an instant pot I use maybe once a month, a Nutribullet in use several times a week, and a slow cooker I use a couple of times a month, especially in winter. I got rid of the rice cooker a few years ago, and I could probably do without the instant pot but it is handy for cooking a whole chicken that will just debone. No air fryer.

I have all of them except the air fryer....I LOVE my InstantPot, but it took a while for me to warm to it. We don’t eat rice Anymore, but I used to have a little rice cooker that I got at a grocery store for $7.99. It was very handy for making oatmeal, too!

I never jumped on the insta or air fryer bandwagon. The only appliances on my counter are a coffee maker and a four slot toaster which are used daily.

Tucked away I have a crockpot that I use a few times a year and a waffle maker, hand mixer, electric skillet, and stand mixer that are rarely used. I'm not big on gadgets or counter clutter.

My cuisinart, also approx 30years old is the only appliace that lives on my counter. It's probably just because it was grandfathered in, not because I use it frequently. I have a k5 kitchen aid but normally whip cream and egg whites by hand with a large balloon whisk. I'm on my 3rd toaster--that is sad for a simple appliance. I never use the rice cooker--only keep it because it was a gift and I forget it's there. I need a blender. I burned out the old one pureeing chestnuts.

I don’t have one, nor do I want one, but I am bitter about air fryers. 😆 A few Thanksgivings ago, my SIL gave my husband an ad for the air fryer she wanted for Xmas. He didn’t pass the info along to me until 12/22 and asked if I could help him out with shopping. I thought an Instant Pot would be a more useful gift (I don’t have one but based on what others told me.) He said no, just get the air fryer. Naturally, it wasn’t on sale any longer and stores were mostly sold out. I found one and had to pay full price. She recently admitted she‘s used it twice. 🙄

I have and use: stand mixer, immersion blender, full size (used it tonight) and mini food processors, and a crock pot that I’ve just started using in the last year. I used the waffle maker on Saturday, I probably use it 3-4 times a year. I have a basic 2-slot toaster, and I was known to make the best toast (when my niece and nephew were under 6, and are from a home without a toaster 😆).

All of those things are stored in a pantry, although the stand mixer has a dedicated cabinet with a lift shelf.

Once a year, I wonder if I’d ever use an Instant Pot enough to justify owning one. One sister loves hers. Recently, I even checked out cookbooks from the library to see if there were things I’d make. So far, I’m not convinced to spend the money or find the storage space.

You are not alone. I am not a gadget person and I do n't like alot out on my counters. No rice cooker, insta pot, large food processor or air fryer. No toaster oven.

I have an electric skillet, it's good to cook certain things in, I don't use for frying, but it's not something I use often. I use my crockpot fairly often. We have a toaster (in the pantry) it is not used. For toast, I prefer it toasted in the oven. I use my hand mixer a good bit and I prefer to chop by hand, but I will occasionally use my small food processor/chopper. Don't use my blender that often but occasionally. We do not have a waffle iron although the mr. probably wishes we did. LOL

I cook a good bit, and enjoy cooking, I just am used to doing it without gadgets.

And here I thought that I was the only one who hadn't jumped on the Instant Pot and air fryer bandwagon!

It's funny that we only have most of our specialty appliances because my husband wanted them. I was perfectly happy cooking rice on top of the stove for decades, but he thought that a rice cooker does a better job.

I have a pop-up shelf that holds both a full-sized food processor and a mini one. It's plugged into the cabinet and easy to use, but I don't use it often. Indispensable, however, for something like carrot cake or pesto. Only a hand mixer, crock pot, and blender, which I use at least 3x a week for breakfast smoothies. We eat a lot of rice, but a pan works fine

for me. Forgot the toaster oven---bulky but used pretty often. We're moving to a condo

in the next year or so, and I'll have to reevaluate then, but I hate to give any of it up.

I love my espresso maker and grinder and coffee pot and use them daily. Makes me happy to look at them on the counter. The toaster oven is on a tray and gets pulled out for toast then hidden away in the cabinet until the next day. That too makes me happy.

Few gadgets but I do have a good KA stand mixer and food processor that I use.

I like clean line countertops.

I bought these at Costco for $21 a week ago and have used them everyday since. They clean up easy after roasting veggies. Fancy! They are gold!

Other than that I just need good soup/sauce pots, casserole dishes and good fry pans.

I just acquired a countertop convection oven/air fryer because the range for my new kitchen hit supply chain issues and won't arrive until January (original date was October 15). I also have a crock pot, and my ex gave my daughter a toaster oven, which seems superfluous now with the convection oven.

I have a 25-year-old food processor, but no stand mixer (25-year-old electric hand mixer and 80-year-old crank hand mixer, though). No toaster. I have a hand blender and a rice cooker (the simmer on my old range wasn't low enough to cook rice properly). An air popcorn popper rounds out my small appliances.

Sold my KA Mixer, Cuisinart food processor, crock pot, toaster oven, and lots of other things when we moved to lighten the load. I have since replaced the KA mixer and toaster oven. Thinking about a food processor and crock pot but have managed fine without them for 6 years now. Definitely not a gadget person here, especially large, bulky ones. I tend to subscribe to Alton Brown's theory that there should be no unitaskers in a kitchen but I did get a spiralizer - a small one, fits in the palm of my hand so I don't resent the space it takes even if I don't use it all the time. Bought a like new used blender at a garage sale when my smoothie loving son was visiting - he used it twice and I've probably used it once since then. The older I get the more simple I like my life and surroundings.

Rice cooker that is used a lot. Cuisinart griddler that has become a workhorse during Covid. One of my sons has a daily panini. Plus it does weekend family breakfast. Crockpot that I bought at church sale for $3 in 1998, it is only used 5 times a year but I consider it money well spent.

Nope with the exception of my mother’s ancient Sunbeam stand mixer. I have a toaster, coffee maker, rice cooker and Cuisinart combo blender/small food processor.

Oh I guess I do have a crockpot that DH uses once a year to bring something to his office for their holiday gathering. Guess that won’t even be used once this year. I also have an electric griddle that gets used every few years at a group outing if we are the ones to make breakfast.

I’m obviously not into the latest fad cooking appliances. I purged years ago when we did a kitchen remodel and never missed any of the stuff.

I have a food processor, stand mixer, hand mixer, immersion blender, immersion circulator, instapot, coffee grinder, espresso machine and a toaster oven. It may not be the cutest appliance but it is used almost every day. We are empty nesters and I can't imagine running the big oven at 400+ for an hour for 2 baked potatoes. Cooking is something I love to do and do in some form every day, so all get a regular workout. I resisted an instapot for a long time, as I hardly ever used a slow cooker or a pressure cooker. My friend who loves to cook as much as I do kept raving about it so I caved. I'm really glad I did. The PC aspect makes the best broth/stock, cooks dried beans to perfection in an hour, makes a decent risotto in about 20 hands off minutes. It also has an element in the bottom that you can turn on to brown or sear things, so lots less dishes!

I have an immersion blender and a mid sized food processor. My crock pot is decades old, a nice stainless one with a black crock, use it a couple times most winters, but now that I'm working from home maybe more this winter...No stand mixer or hand mixer - but like cawaps, I have an old crank one. When I used to make bread I just made it by hand. The only appliance on my regular counters is a blender I use multiple times a week, I like it as it has glass instead of plastic. My frequently used 2 slice dualit toaster has it's own cubby counter around the counter with 2 vintage coffee pots on display. above. Those I use only very infrequently, some years not at all, but I won't give them up. Now, one of my counters is narrow, above a SS wire rack. Taking up the middle rack side by side are a Breville oven and a microwave, the kind made for truck stops with no features but to turn on for so many minutes or seconds. Like nekotish, I'd rather not use the big oven; the Breville uses less electricity than even the smaller, upper oven., and has an air fry feature I've never used. Forgotten about, actually. I'll have to read up on it!. Popcorn maker = paper bag.

Here's my stand mixer

I do not have a stand mixer or full sized food processor at the house in Cathedral City, and so I make bread dough by hand and I use a blender to purée beans for hummus or bean dip, but I have to do it in batches, which is okay. The kitchen there is much smaller, and so I do not have room for large appliances. I am perfectly content not to have the stand mixer there, but it would be convenient to have a large food processor.

Of those listed by the OP I only have a stand mixer. I do not have a hand mixer. I have little to no counter space or cupboards for storage of extraneous appliances so have kept pretty minimal in my kitchen.

I don't have any of those things, nor do I want them. I'm not into cooking/baking and don't want to store them. We do have a toaster oven but it is kept in a cabinet unless being used. I don't like clutter on the counters...at all. My son is living here while his new house is completed. My counters are FULL! Mostly things for coffee but also other cooking items (he has all items listed above). He cooks A LOT. My husband will miss him when he moves;).

I didn't get the KA mixer right away, but we do use it a lot. It is great for meringue for pies, and we mostly use the dough hook to make our own pizza dough. It stays in the corner behind the coffee maker until I used it.

I do like gadgets but I don’t have room for them. The only small appliances that I use are my KA stand mixer, a crock pot, mini food processor and a small rice cooker that i use all the time. Oh and a drip/single cup coffee pot. The crock pot lives in a cupboard and the rest are on the counter top.

I do have an Air Fryer that I used a couple of times. I don’t get the appeal. It’s very heavy and takes up a lot of space. What is the difference between using the air fryer vs convection oven? The AF lives on a shelf in the garage along with a waffle iron that is used a couple times a year.

Right now I have my KA mixer, air fryer (it’s huge and I hate the look of it but my husband uses it several times a week,) a 2 slot toaster AND a toaster oven. My husband grew up in a house with a toaster oven, I grew up using a standard toaster and neither of us is willing to budge! A Keurig is on a separate cart and there’s a George Foreman grill in the drawer under the stove (another favorite of my husband, used weekly.)

In the pantry I keep my food processor, 3 crock pots (great for family buffets,) blender (rarely used,) and an electric fry pan. I use my food processor at least once a month and the fry pan to make the perfect ameretto french toast when I’m in the mood!

Not to despair, I don't have either, either! However, DH keeps commenting on them and when we see them at Costco, he keeps stopping and staring. So, ask me in another month or two or three, and we might be owing one.

I love convenience but I HATE having these huge appliances around that are barely used and I don't want it to live on my counter. (we do have a large empty cabinet where it could stay but I am not volunteering). My experience with many is that they are NOT easy to clean and become a real chore to use. Not that I know specifically about air fryer or instant pot or stand mixer.

I've had my trusty KA stand mixer for close to 30 years. I also have a KA hand mixer that I use often. We have a 2 slice pop up toaster and a small toaster oven. The toaster oven is used way more. I have a cuisinart food processor almost as old as the KA mixer. Recently got a cute little mini processor that I use often. I also have a big powerful blender, a juicer, a nutri-bullet, and immersion blender and an old crock pot. I like my kitchen helpers! I am fortunate to have a large storage closet in the basement outfitted with shelves to store most of the above as well as baking pans, my big turkey roaster, extra serving platters, etc.

Nekotish, the crock pot makes wonderful baked potatoes! I use mine frequently for baked sweet potatoes!!

I forgot about the microwave - does that count? It and the toaster are the only appliances on my counter. All the rest are on shelves in the cupboard under the counter.

My M/W is in a cabinet with pocket doors, with a pull out shelf below. Works really well and I don't have to look at it. The Keurig is in there too (I don't drink coffee and everyone likes the convenience of Keurig). The only appliance on my counter is a toaster. Everything else is in the pantry.

Certainly there's no right or wrong, it's all about what works for each individually.

I doubt most have 10 enameled dutch ovens or 15 whisks like me but I don't want a rice cooker or immersion blender or air fryer or insta pot.

We have a food processor (used rarely), instant pot (used 3-4 times weekly), toaster oven (rarely), slow cooker (used in cold months), several pressure cookers (used weekly), spice grinder (used weekly), a huge but nifty salad master (which I use only when cutting industrial quantities of vegetables) a “wet” grinder I bought in India (used a few times a year), a hand blender (used weekly).

The one that gets the most use is our Saeco espresso machine. I have 2-3 cups of coffee a day, but DH has a cup every couple of hours he’s awake and home. We turned the wet bar into his coffee bar. He gets special coffee requests from Friends who drop in (pre-COVID).

I have a Kitchen Aid stand mixer, crockpot, a very old mini food processor, Vitamix, electric juicer, toaster oven, and Keurig. The Keurig, Vitamix, and toaster are used often and left out. The other are in the cupboard. I had a rice cooker but it died last year. I used to have a full size food processor but I gave it away along with a bread maker.

Tina, do the baked potatoes' skin get crispy in a crockpot? Crispy skin on baked potatoes is a must for us.

I hate my one year old food processor! After my original cuisinart died at 40, I bought a new one last year. It’s big, heavy and came with bowls, tops and other accessories that take up space and I have no idea what to do with.

My instaPot is used seldom used. No air fryer. Our blender makes a good frozen Margarita twice a year. Love my stand mixer but I use the handheld more often.

The only appliance used regularly, and stays on my counter, is our plain Jane Mr. Coffee.

I have 2 big crock pots. Then the kids moved out and I bought one that worked for just 2 people. I use this about 1x per week.

By FAR the most used appliance in my kitchen would be my handy dandy step ladder. LOL

We have a instant pot and a slow cooker, but none of the others. Both of them are great time savers. I would love to have an air fryer. My son and DIL just bought their oldest daughter a Gourmia 8-quart air fryer for a Christmas gift and I amazed at what you can do with it, even bake !

I don't have any of those things. My ex was the kitchen gadget person and took that stuff with him. I was a little miffed to lose the KA stand mixer that had been a wedding gift from a friend of MINE, but I got the house, so . . .

eta: I do have a crock pot, and it gets a lot of use through the winter. I also have a Keurig (ex used it for hot chocolate) that gets use when I have company (I'm not a coffee drinker, and I like the option to buy/store a variety of pods rather than larger quantities of coffee for a standard coffeemaker). I also have a ca. 1960 Sunbeam 2-slice toaster that was a wedding gift to my parents. Another thing that gets pulled out when there is company.

I don't have any of those items. I have a tiny kitchen with almost no storage. I have in recent past been pulled in by people's excitement about InstaPots, but I just know I would not have a single place to use it or store it. I do have a crockpot that I have to plug in outside and only use during summer months because of that. I use it less and less as the years go by, so I mostly step on or trip over it in an adjacent closet in the guest room that we use a pantry. But we seem to eat fine :-)

Even got rid of the coffee maker a year or two ago. What a sense of freedom now! Switched over to a French press. Takes up about as much space as I have to spare.

Recently acquired several small appliances, among them a food processor and an air fryer. LOVE the air fryer, I make all sorts of stuff with it, far less mess than frying in oil, yet turns out crispy items.

My husband bought me a Breville Smart Oven (toaster oven) the Christmas before last, which I thought I didn't want and even tried to return but couldn't... and now it's my most favorite thing in the kitchen. I think I've probably only used my regular oven a handful of times since. The Breville will take a 13" pizza pan so it's not often that I want to cook something that it won't handle - - a turkey for example, or something like Thanksgiving dinner when you have more than one dish in the oven. Last Christmas I even ended up buying one for my MIL.

Hubs also just recently bought an Instant Pot which I have used successfully a few times, but the jury is still out. Most of the time I cook for 1 or 2 people, and neither of us love a lot of leftovers... so I'm not sure yet if the Instant Pot is useful for the way we live. I do not have a stand mixer or food processor. I do have a blender that has been used exclusively for crushing ice for patio drinks. :)

I finally bought myself a stand mixer and Instapot last year. No air fryer, rice cooker, or food processor. I would really like to buy a full sized food processor, but haven't wanted to spend the money or find the space in my pantry for one.

To be honest, I haven't used the Instapot as much as I thought I would. A co-worker raved about how she used it for so many meals and I simply don't find myself using it as much as I thought. I need to keep building up my recipe base for it.

I snapped up a stand mixer when they were on sale. I have enjoyed it for baking and do find myself baking a bit more now that I have it. It's certainly not a necessity for me, but it's been fun.

Chiming in to agree it's nice to know I'm not alone ! I have a mini food processor (can't add ingredients on top) and have never needed anything larger. I have an old fashioned 4-slice toaster, a slow cooker I use occasionally and an electric skillet that I got from my SIL when I got married 34 years ago and which I still use. I have a blender that only gets hauled out to make tropical drinks when we have company so that's been gathering dust since March LOL. Oh and an immersion blender I bought thinking I'd be making lots of soups and which I've used twice.

No InstaPot, no air fryer, no stand mixer, no toaster oven (I'm with Mtn, I also think they clutter a countertop with not much utility in our house).

I am considering asking for a small rice cooker for Christmas this year. I make rice fairly often to go with our protein of choice (fish/chicken) and the saucepan-on-stovetop method sometimes ends up with me over- or undercooking it. So that's a tool I think I would use and appreciate.

I gave up on cooking rice. No matter what I tried it was rarely cooked properly and I was always having messy spillovers and gummy pans. We now use microwaveable bags of frozen cooked brown rice. It's not cost-effective for a big family but for DH and me the bags are a perfect size. And I console myself about the waste by thinking about the energy and water saved by not endlessly scrubbing the stove and the pots.

I’ve been making a quick yummy concoction with Uncle Ben’s Coconut Jasmine Ready Rice. I throw it in a fry pan with a little butter, oil, sautéed sweet onion, whatever veggies I have on hand, teriyaki sauce, tamari and two eggs. I let the rice and onion brown up a bit. Yum! It’s takes minutes and dirties one pan. Good to add leftover meat or fish as well.

I just don’t need a lot of those bulky appliances.

I like small kitchen appliances probably more than I should, considering I don't cook with any regularity. I have a KitchenAid stand mixer and although it's infrequently used, I just love seeing it on my counter. Also have a food processor that is used occasionally (might drag it out this weekend, in fact, to aid in chopping for a veggie soup), a turquoise Dualit toaster that I still have a crush on, a rice steamer that DH uses every couple of days, a crockpot that we drag out maybe once a quarter, and a cute little hand mixer. Coffee maker, of course, and an electric tea kettle -- I keep secretly hoping it will die so I can buy a cuter one, but for now it remains a workhorse and is used a few times most days. We don't have a toaster oven or Instant Pot; just not sure we would ever use them -- but I could probably get "interested" in them given half a nudge. I just find kitchen stuff like that to be very cool and on the whole, enjoy owning the pieces.

Of all the things mentioned in this list, I think the only 3 I do not have are an air fryer, an air popper and electric griddle (takes up too much space) . Most things are used fairly frequently. My grain mill has been on hiatus because my daughter has celiac disease. At 19 though, I expect in a few years using it may be in the cards again. We also have a mini donut maker which was a birthday gift for one of the kids. I like that more than baking donuts in the oven. I'm not sure I would buy a new one if it ever dies, but have definitely enjoyed it over the years. While I have 2 ovens, I am not about to get rid of the toaster oven. There are some things where it just makes sense to use a smaller oven. The Instapot is great for large batches of stock (and it keeps the house from smelling like stock all day long) and beans. I do not use the stand mixer or large food processor every day but I do a lot of large batch cooking (6 people to feed), so they make more things possible. There is nothing wrong with my knife skills, just the hand holding the knife. I also have a large garden that I preserve from in good years, so the tools help. If I moved to a smaller place, I would streamline some of these things. I basically have one appliance corner where the 2 coffee makers are (regular and K-cup which belongs to one of the kids) and toaster oven resides. The microwave is on its own shelf and so with everything, my counters are reasonably clear.

My kitchen is so tiny, I just can't manage to keep any appliances out. I have a cart with a toaster oven on it, and everything else is either on a shelf or in a cupboard.
