An unanswered question that came up often in my own diy flooring projects. Episodes I watched on "This Old House" and "Holmes on Homes" finally spilled the beans. Professional floor installers/contractors use their work site power saws, planers, and sanders to create custom transitions. If you can provide the wood and measurements, perhaps someone will run it off for you.

I think it’s permanent. When we measured with laser it was completely straight line but after laying tiles it starts flash with floors but goes about 1/4 inch gap to wards the end. I think by the time we get to the end it will be more than 1/4 inch. I was thinking to take off more about 4 inches of wood and lay a piece of sand wood opposite direction to make a transition point but that will probably only work if time end up flash with floor height that I will see only after wood is sanded.

Well the kitchen is almost done. The floor is my favourite thing! Absolutely love them! It is porcelain wood plank layed herringbone butting up against the hardwood floor. The hardwood and porcelain floors do not look the same but they do have the same tone. I think they look great together. It was hard to get a good pic because the lighting is different in the kitchen vs the hall.
