It all depends on the height difference between the tile and the laminate flooring. Typically the backerboard and tile will be almost 3/4” thick vs about 1/4-3/8” with laminate. Therefore, a reducer from the tile to the laminate is your best option. if you use the Schluter Ditra uncoupling membrane under your tile it will reduce the overall thickness of the installed tile. It’s thinner than the 1/4” backerboard and gives you a cleaner transition.

I think it’s permanent. When we measured with laser it was completely straight line but after laying tiles it starts flash with floors but goes about 1/4 inch gap to wards the end. I think by the time we get to the end it will be more than 1/4 inch. I was thinking to take off more about 4 inches of wood and lay a piece of sand wood opposite direction to make a transition point but that will probably only work if time end up flash with floor height that I will see only after wood is sanded.

I am installing 32x32 POLISHED carrera look floor tile in my bathroom and will have no threshold into the shower. (Goal for look is an all white modern look with all black hardware) I was also considering white wavy 3d tile inside shower. (see picture) So, what tile would you place up against the carrera tile to go inside a shower that compliments it?

This should be caulked since it is a change in plane.
