Vintage bathroom flooring- what to do?

Hi all!

Our powder bathroom has ugly cheap orange floating floors that were installed by the prior owner. We easily removed the same tile from a different part of the house and found untouched hardwood floors, so this orange tile appears to be a style choice as opposed to a necessary thing. Anyway, today I decided to see what the orange floor was hiding in our powder bathroom and I found this rather neat looking vintage floor. Our house was built in 1961 and I assume these are original.

I was planning on removing the rest of the orange tile, cleaning up and regrouting the floor. My question for your wonderful people is whether you think it is a good idea or if we should just get new tile laid? Second question- should we concerned about lead/asbestos? And last question- if we do clean it up and re-grout any thoughts on the best way to clean up old tile?

thanks in advance!
