A Tapmaster makes any faucet touchless, uses no electricity, and you can turn off the faucet at the handle whenever you want.

Ours is a touch faucet (you touch it anywhere to turn on), so not quite what you are looking for, but I imagine the safety features are the same or similar. Mine shuts off if it runs for 2 minutes, and it has a handle that can be turned off when we leave. Mine has never come on randomly. I think the cat set it off once, but that's it.

I've installed plenty of these; I prefer the Deltas. Be sure to bleed your shutoff valves. Taking the screen out isn't enough. If valve crud hits the solenoid, the faucet will drip until the crud flushes through if ever.

We have one and we HATE it. It turns off all of the time in the middle of using it. For example if we are washing and rinsing a large pot, if the pot bumps the faucet even the tiniest bit is turns off. It is so sensitive to touch that the slightest thing turns it off. We are constantly having to stop and tap it to turn it back on. We do this dozens of times a day, so it is a real annoyance.

I would avoid these like the plague. There is something lovely about turning on a tap and it not shutting off on you a million times.

I’ve used at a relatives home and don’t like it. Sometimes it’s in the on sometimes off position and the touch part won’t work if the faucet is in the wrong position. I get the reason for the design, so you don’t contaminate the hardware with dirty raw chicken hands, but I just use my wrist if my hands are dirty and then I’m not actually touching the faucet. It’s easy!
