Not sure I’d be too comfortable sitting in there with a basket hanging directly over my head! And worse if it held a vining plant to get all tangled up in. 😆. Are those vases in left side of pic staying there? A bit crowded unless the picture skews the perspective. Could you place a plant on window sill? Is there no need to cover window for privacy?

How about a narrow shelf on the adjacent wall -- just wide enough to hold a potted plant.

What direction does this window face? South-facing windows may get some sun. The plants below should do well there.

I'd look at hanging wall planters for succulents, hang the art on the opposite wall from the succulents, maybe an aloe plant in place of the art on the tank and remove the vases and shell.

You have too much going on there. Remove sticks, vases and shell. At the very least, move toilet brush to the left as much as possible or put it away. Maybe another picture on the right wall, or a grouping of 3 smaller. . Skip the hanging plant. If you really want plants, sanseveria would probably do ok on the toilet but could get knocked over. I am not a fan of fake plants either, but some of the fake orchids are quite nice and can add a touch of color and something for the eye to rest on, looking into the bathroom.

The top half of the picture looks empty but the bottom looks very full. Too full. If I stumbled to the toidy in the middle of the night, half asleep, I’d knock half that stuff over.

I agree with a high shelf on one of the side walls with a trailing plant like a pothos. Hang the picture on the opposite side wall.

All the stuff on the floor needs to be removed how gross . As for the plant maybe just something that can sit on the window ledge and please no fake plants ever.

Why in the world do you have vases with twigs and what looks to be a pointy shell next to a toilet? Do men use this toilet (splash back)? I can only imagine what would end up on those vases and shell. I'd also hate having to move all that stuff to clean and also having to clean off those vases and that shell. I certainly wouldn't want a plant hanging over me when using the toilet.

Do you open the window much? If not, I am thinking maybe a small shelf going across the middle of the window with a small plant or two on top. You could put shelf brackets on the outside of the trim and just remove the whole shelf when you need to clean.

I'm going to assume the stuff on the floor next to the toilet are just there temporarily. :)

I get trying to make your new home look cute but a small toilet area does not need decoration. Besides the errant men and boys issue, there is also the general sanitation problem of toilet spray.

I would get two big pieces of glass covered art with simple frames for the walls, paint the window casing an interesting color and find new homes for the rest of the items.

Pretty window — I think a Roman shade would be lovely on it.

I’d remove the floor items and hang art on the walls as the only decor. Bring the eye up, rather than down around the toilet.

A roman shade is exactly what I envisioned also. Plants you don't have to tend to.

TBH, I think fabric in a space that small is as problematic as the vases on the floor. That is why I suggested painting the window casing. If the poster is single with few visitors a fabric shade is less of an issue but still ...

I would not put anything there. I don't like toilet areas that are dressed up.

I would paint the window if possible. If you need privacy you can get static cling window film. There are plain and lots of colorful choices available.

Everyone has a "thing" - an aversion to shoes in the house, pets on the counters, sharing food, whatever. Mine is toilet decor. For the reason mentioned above. YMMV.

I have original artwork on the walls surrounding the toilet in two bathrooms and always close the potty lid before a flush. It's true that everyone has an aversion to something, not necessarily all the same stuff.

I read hanging basket and the first thought through my head was.. basketball.. followed by shouting Kobe while attempting to make a shot sitting on the toilet.. sounds like fun LOL.
