How do you clean your sink grid?
Comments (5)I fill the sink with just enough very hot water to cover it, then I use a stiff brush to scrub the top and bottom. I don't worry about germs, I don't put food on it that won't be washed (for example, I might put peeled potatos on it, but they get rinsed and boiled after, so I don't worry about germs). If you are worried about germs (maybe you have young children or someone with a chronic condition in your home), keep a spray bottle with a bleach/water mix around (just label it well! You don't want to spray your plants with it!)....See MoreHow do you clean your sink grids?
Comments (7)needanap, I have the same problem. I use a larger sink brush under as hot water as possible through the spray feature of the faucet. Probably not as good as the toothbrush method, but it seems to work pretty well. I hadn't thought about a Dobie pad, that might be even better. I think I'll try gizmonlike's suggestion for a once-in-awhile deep cleaning. Maybe an oxyclean-type product will work. It seemed much easier to keep clean when it was new--there most have been some type of clear coating on it that has worn off. And then of course the inevitable small scratches seem to attract gunk....See MoreDo you have a Ticor Sink? I wonder if I do.
Comments (6)Last night I was online with Customer Service at Overstock. They say that the description doesn't say it is a Ticor. Pretty funny, since it is exactly the same photo used by Galaxy, and the exact description, and oh yeah--it comes in a Ticor box! This morning I woke up, filled out my return request, and am planning on running over to the granite fabricator's shop to see what he thinks. If he thinks I should just keep it and not run the risk involved in having Galaxy overnight one to me and then we check to see if it will fit or not. You can see I started another link about this once I realized this is NOT a Ticor sink. ugh. Oh, I wouldn't return this one until after the granite was installed with the other one! Comments (2)I have a Blanco Silgranit sink with a ledge on one side. It's very handy for rinsing and draining things, and it's unobtrusive so it doesn't get in the way of cleaning big things. Mine isn't wide enough to support big pots while filling them though. It came with a drainer basket that sits on the ledge. I'm very happy with mine and glad I chose it.
