The closest BM match to Mellow Grain would be Dunmore Cream if that helps you to visualize it. Here is the reason that I wouls prefer to not live in the "Red House"-it may not apply to your environs. Our area is mostly new construction in subdivisions-most of the homes are no more than 10 years old, and our particular neighborhood didn't break ground until 2005. For resale it seems to be best to paint the home a color that blends well and fits in with the surrounding homes-the few homeowners who tried something different and then tried to sell ended up selling for less than they should have-in one case a home that the owner had painted a pretty potent blue color was listed for 6 months without an offer, then painted and relisted at a price $15k higher than the original price only to sell in less than a week. I don't really do anything to the outside of my home without some consideration as to what it might do to my resale potential even though I have no plans to move. The last two homes we bought and sold had less curb appeal when we bought them than when we sold them-we were able to buy them cheaper and sell for more. The first house I ever bought was Pink-PINK. The agent didn't want me to see it but I forced her to show it to me-we stole it and the first thing we did was paint it a creamy yellow. The neighbors all thanked us.

At your favorite paint store you should find an exterior color card. Not the small chips but a brochure sized card that shows exterior color schemes. Look for the 3 or 4 color scheme that has green for the shutters and a deep beige/taupe/clay color for the siding. Your roof is the "shutters" part of the scheme. Good luck!

You have a lovely house ..white stucco with some charcoal grey with blue undertones for some trim areas and garage door would be very refreshing in a sea of beige to taupe track homes, a kind of California modern look. Changing the look of the garage door to either match your pergola color or a trim color will go a long way to update , giving you great curb appeal. The red tile roof gives you some thing to run with for bumping up the style. I would add some Saltillo tile for the porch and walkway to repeat that roof color , some new lighting that's larger in scale and some more structural plantings such as blue agave.

Revere Pewter might be a possibility. Seapearl could be better as trim since it will likely lighten up quite a bit on the exterior. Whatever you decide, I would paint the garage door the same color as the siding to pull some focus off of it. Something light, like Seapearl or White Dove, could help pull the front door out of the shadows. That's the area I would want fo get as much attention as possible instead of the garage. It's hard to tell for sure...is your current siding kind of a gray/green? That's a shade that can work nicely with a red/brown roof color.
