Comments (2)Yes--I would LOVE to have a pink front door--think it would fit the design spot on but husband thinks (although he won't say it) that pink houses are too effemiminent....Works better to have something not pure white because of the irrigation water blowback......See MoreAdvise for exterior paint color with spanish tile roof
Comments (6)Before I worried about the paint color, I would want to know your entire renovation plan and budget. There is a lot you could do with that house. The siding needs to be removed and the house needs to be stuccoed That fireplace could be rocked along with the two pillars in the driveway. But in terms of color, there are four color schemes that I've seen work well with that color of tile roof. 1) Yes, you could go cream color and accent with the dark stained wood color. 2) Or you could do two tones of stucco .... one a beige that has pink in it and the other a light cream color. 3) Or you could do a light pink and accent with cream. 4) Or a lighter green works well with a Spanish tile roof in that lighter pink-ish hue. Just make sure that whatever color you choose that it has pink as its undertone....See MoreExterior color ideas (Brick, Stucco, Roof)
Comments (9)"...Also we are a bit concerned that the roof may be a bit too encompassing..." You are right! Fortunately, we humans never seen buildings in 2-D elevations, such as depicted on drawings. The purpose of these drawings is convey needed information about the construction of a building, and not to illustrate what a building will actually look like in 3-D. For that, perspectives are necessary. So your huge roof will not look as huge and overbearing as it appears on the elevations. But it will dwarf your house and dominate your view of the house. Unfortunately, this is a common occurance when a drafter or CAD operator designs a house by unilaterally focusing on a floor plan, and thereafter simply plopping roof trusses on the walls of the floorplan. Looking at your roof plan, and floor plan outline, there's a quick and easy approach for a completely different roofing scheme which would greatly reduce your roof massing, but it requires eliminating or changing the roof over what I assume is a back porch. I hope natural light in the interiors of your house is not a major criterion, since you appear to have a very large, deep house, almost square in shape. It's going to be dark in there, regardless of your orientation....See MoreShoemaker
