White or Cream Bedding with Off-white Bed
Comments (18)lynn2006, your room sounds very tranquil. That's the look I'm going for as well. I've decided to go with a mix of creams and whites. I also ordered a light blue quilt to fold at the end of the bed. When it comes in, I'll see if I think the color will work. I want it to mainly be neutrals, but I'd like to add in a touch of that blue/gray type thing that a lot of people are doing now. I'm trying to get out of the red/gold/green phase. I've been solidly in that for at least ten years now! Oh, and if anyone knows of a good source for *reasonable* bed scarves, if you could pass along the info, I would appreciate it. Originally I was going to get a blue bed scarf to put at the foot of the bed, but the ones I found online were as much or more than buying a whole king-size coverlet or quilt!...See MoreYellow Toned Off White/Cream
Comments (7)The most effective way to figure out which white is right is to understand that all colors including colors of white belong to a hue family. Which whites have you tried that did not work? When we know what didn't work, we can plot them on a color wheel according to their hue family so we can see what's not working and that simultaneously guides us to a different hue family or families that could work....See MoreHow do I make Soft Chamois cabinets seem more white? What wall color?
Comments (10)Actually, I believe the undertone of Chamois is green. apple_pie_order_ is correct by saying the new bulbs will help. The one caveat is the new bulbs will, most likely, change the tone of other colors in the room as well. What else is going on in the kitchen? What did you paint the woodwork? Counters/tile/floor? They are all part of the mix. as lights colors can take on a neighboring influence…like the green trees outside or the Brazilian Cherry floor. Personally, the idea of Chamois on your cabinets sounds beautiful. I would continue using it, here and there; make it a dominate color.. B.M. silver chain looks beautiful with it, and if you continue to add more of the chamois…yum!...See Moreoff-white trim: white or off-white ceiling
Comments (8)Thank you, but to be clear, it's not an option to repaint the trim and moulding a different color, because it's the same throughout the house and we're only repainting one room. We're the ones who painted it 17 years ago, and we still have the same color, which is off-white. We'll repaint the trim with the original color so it looks new, but my husband is vehemently against repainting the trim in a different color, so that's not an option. Not worth getting a divorce over, ha ha! So, back to the question, if the moulding is off-white, (cream, even) will the ceiling look weird if it's white? Is it better to have the moulding and the ceiling the same color (off-white)?...See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
