What color is your door going to be? Also are you doing stark white windows? BTW: In the elevation drawing I agree with you that horizontal looks better. The problem is it's hard to match a red brick color.

I would pick one of the colors in the brick columns. You could leave the door the current color but I think you need to tone down the trim colors. It draws the eye away from the front door. Your house has a wonderful lodge feel to it. Is it in a forested or lake area? If so, this is a look: If you're in more of a suburban neighborhood, then Judy G's suggestion for trim paint is good. No need to paint the entire house. If you have the budget, great landscaping would really enhance your house, something like the photo above or here below: Something to think about is changing out the white window shades for light bamboo to add to the rustic feeling.
