I love my peach brick house, but i have NO idea what colour to paint!
Comments (10)so it's actually more orange, you'd say, then pink? I liked the pink tones! and yes, I hate the brown tones. totally here ya on that one. Such a cool looking house. I suppose doing a lime wash on the brick is a no? I mean, I think you could really brighten her up if you went that route. Look at Romabio and their before and afters. just spend a little time online looking at the transformations. It's not a regular paint either, so it's very very low maintenance. try these. instead of doing tans/greens/sage, try moving over into the blue/green and blue grays, along w/some white and tans. These blues, along w/the orange brick, are natural compliments. I love these two blues w/the white. you have the porch and railing that could use the diff blue tones. don't forget the porch ceiling in the pale blue....See MoreHelp me spruce up my orange brick home!
Comments (62)Usually, I don’t comment too much in regards to others posts but I have a couple of things that I disagree with from above posts. Your house is traditional not contemporary. Vines are a bad idea and messy for next to the garage area. Keep the entry clean and simple with as suggested earlier....seasonal wreaths and pots that match and attractive. As in the above photo you can see that if you plant shrubs next to the garage keep them small and simple not intruding on the walkway. Seriously check out the roots on the tree to make sure they will not damage plumbing. If not then consider planting things like caladiums or begonias underneath in a simple bed. Your lot is not giant so don’t overcrowd but do add some nice small shrubs and plantings. Look at Home Town redos to see how they complimented the houses or Joanna Gaines makeovers. i seriously planted my last house out front but we lived on a hill of 7 levels almost an acre difficult to mow so we removed grass and planted gardens with a walkway because the house was bland and the front porch was its charm Plus a brick wall 10 feet high And it had to be deerproof. I still love my last yard and what we created but our ages won out so we have a more simple yard now. I will always miss my past two yards which we’re completely different but kept me interested and challenged me. This may be your starter home or forever home but stay true to the character of the house and simply give it a nice dress to put on. Think four seasons so that 6 months out of the yard there won’t be an empty yard with no interest. I still like small compact nandinas for the pop of color in winter and they are noninvasive like the taller variety and are a lovely shade of rich green when fertilized in warm weather. your area is hot and humid. When you are able go to the botanical garden in Dallas and check out the gardens For ideas. Try to enjoy your effort and not an “it will do“ philosophy.....remember, this is your home. Create something to be proud of. Signing off..........See MoreNeed help with paint colour for reddish/orange wood floors
Comments (15)I am glad they are both good options for you. I like BM White Down with Edgecomb as well. SW Pure White looks good with both. Another option is a softer white is BM White Dove for the trim. It depends on what you like in your space. It's personal preference. SW Pure White will look whiter than BM Dove White. Both a good options. You can see on the graph below, the DNA of many popular white paints. Always test colors in your personal space and light. Light affects color. Paint large sample boards instead of the wall and live with it for a few days. Place them near your floor, near a corner, move them around. Your current wall colors will affect how you see the new color, but large sample boards make it easy to make a decision. Given where BM White Down lives, it gets it's warmth from it's proximity to the Yellow-Red Family. Your light may reveal a hint of peach, but more likely it will just be a warm white like you want. Comments (14)try using a latex paint remover. you can find it at the big stores. grab a stiff wire brush and a bucket of water. it should work enough so that you don't see it. I photoshopped a few doors/colors/address plaques and lights for you. see what you like. ('cuz that 1950's grandma front door needs to go along w/those shutters!) I like the black option w/copper. the copper will compliment the brick color and the black always looks good w/both I like this door. And, you might think about painting the trim around the windows (did you notice I covered up all your shutters?? looks good huh?) in a darker trim color. gave you this mahogany glass panel door. modern black numbers, a modern chair. I'd paint the other door one of these dark colors, bring in a more modern light. If black is too harsh, think about Urbane Bronze or Iron Ore. both look great w/orange brick. try something modern like this w/the numbers, potted plants, lighting, Here is an orange brick house with complimentary colors and light fixtures. another nice door color is a peacock blue, sage, blue/green, tone soft blue/green with copper and your orange brick always look good Yam color door, bronze light, warm wood and gray tones also work. Here's a door w/natural wood. black mailbox and light (but I like the others above better) are those posts cedar or painted? These color palettes are also perfect w/your brick. (don't forget to paint your side door too....See MoreCreative Visual Concepts, Kevin Strader
