Help choosing kitchen floor - porcelain vs vinyl

Ash Y

Hi all,

I've narrowed down the flooring choices for my kitchen remodel and need some helping making the final decision. The majority of the flooring in my apartment is a natural maple, so I want to keep things pretty light. Keep in mind that whatever I choose for the kitchen will also eventually go in a dressing room I have (which currently has 20 year old carpet, yuck).

I will have navy lower cabinets and white uppers, with a white quartz countertop. I know it'll be a lot of white, but I have a VERY small kitchen so don't mind that.

I've narrowed it down to 2 choices, and they're both very similar in color:

White Matte porcelain tile

Pros:

Very affordable

Porcelain is considered higher end

Cons:

Hard and cold (especially in winter)

Harder to tear up if I ever want to change out the tile

I'm a bit clumsy and would be worried about dropping and breaking things

AduraFlex Vinyl in white cement (in person this is much more white than the picture)

Pros:

Easier to clean (I hate grout)

More comfortable to stand on

Cons:

Slightly more expensive

Some people HATE vinyl (I'm personally fine with it)

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!
