Sharing the cooking...finally.

I won't go into specifics, but for most of my life, through two wives, I've done all the cooking. Well, they say the third time is a charm and I'm now amongst those who agree. For the first time living with another person, I've found a true culinary partner. We split the time in the kitchen, whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Often, it's a race to see who's going to cook the meal. Regardless who ends up cooking, in the year and half we've been living together, there hasn't been a clunker. It's as though we share a common palate.

We've just moved into a new house that we purchased together, and are 80% through a complete kitchen renovation. Every step of the way, we've had instantaneous agreement. Whether it's the cabinet color, the shape of the backsplash tiles, or which would be the perfect sink, we haven't had an argument or the need to go beyond our first choice.

Our goal is to spend the rest of our lives together. One that I've already tried to reach twice. But at this point in our lives, we've passed the test of time. We're survivors who know what we need, want, and wish for. And like any good survivor, we know that life begins in the kitchen.
