Let's go bridal this week with something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and then a pic of a bride or wedding.

Wow has this been a fun week of photos!

Today is something bridal.

This couple lucked out with the most spectacular sunset on their wedding day. Earlier in the day, they also had a rainbow! And now they have a lovely daughter as well.

Wedding dress that I made for my SIL. The design of the dress was her idea, but I added the silk organza jacket and overskirt. Photo taken by my sister's husband, and I had to scan it.

I think your tiger swallow tail butterfly is female. I need a view of the top side of the hind wings to know for sure. Females have a band of blue and orange on the hind wings whereas the males have black color in the same place and may have flecks of blue.

My grandmother grew sansavieria, but I never knew what their blooms looked like until now. Heck, I didn't know they produced blooms! My grandparents lived in Canada and her plants spent their lives indoors.

Furnishing, decorating, finishing.....remodeling....the house we live in. The breakfast bar stools need reupholstered. I'm planning on getting a free leather couch off CL, then using the side & back leather for upholstery fabric....

I don't get the days of the week part - but, it's Friday, so, I can post a train picture, right? More specifically, taken from a train. This is the view of the upper bay from Amtrak and MARC commuter trains crossing from Harford to Cecil County in Maryland. The highest hills of the Elk Neck Peninsula in the distance are only 264' high...but I'm pretty sure that's the highest elevation you can see on deep* coastal waters of the eastern US, between the NYC area and the volcanic islands of the Caribbean. Correct me if I'm wrong! The town to the right is Havre de Grace. Rather than accept the local butchering of french, I just call it by its nick name from the olden days of bookies and gangsters: The Graw. * Panamax class vessels can cross the Delmarva Peninsula on the other side that land mass

I scanned this a long time ago. My parents wedding in my grandmother's house in 1944, just a month after my father got his degree from University of Illinois. Notice lots of glads in the picture; my grandfather was a commercial gladiolus grower.

I enjoy wedding ceremonies that are very personal.

The woman to the right is the groom’s best friend and had the honor of best woman. The teddy bear was given to the bride a year before for Valentine’s Day. The ring was hidden in the heart.

A year later when DN proposed he asked the bride to get the teddy bear that was in her room for the past year.

I’m one of the bridesmaids standing next to my big sister on the right side of the picture. I do remember not liking my dress, which was bright acid yellow, or indeed my hairdo!

My Dads standing next to his brother, who is the groom.

My Nan n Grandad are furthest to the left. I was always a bit wary of my Nan on my Dads side of the family, and I think Grandad may have been too, as he always seemed to be in his shed when we visited:)

Best I can do today. The bride, my daughter, and her Dad walking "up the aisle" a woodland path, to meet her groom. It was a magnificent fall day at the YMCA campgrounds where they met. This was 37 years ago

A before and after: Bertha and Ernst's wedding day, 10 Dec 1899, and 40-ish years later. Despite Bertha's somber expression, she was my mom's favorite grandmother and she remembers her as being great fun!

So this is where quite a lot of that recently popular toilet paper went!

What's that you say - that this picture isn't recent?

The car is so heavily covered that it's hard to tell its age.

What's one of the good things about a mask that never gets mentioned?

No one can see the wrinkles!

DH’s mom and dad’s wedding photo. This was in the late 30’s. He wasn’t born until several years (and a couple of miscarriages) later.
