Comments (2)I just purchased a dining room set from saloom. i heard of this company through this site. they do not do a lot of marketing, guess that is the reason i never heard of them. i went to see the table and chairs at a high end decorating center. i really loved the quality of the furniture. it is made in the u.s and the company has a good reputation. from what i've read and from calling to get prices from different places i have not heard anything bad. i purches the new castle line. it is one of their newest editions. you might want to check them out. i was looking for dining room furniture for the longest time and then fell in love with this. good luck....See MoreWhat color/wood finish for dining room furniture?
Comments (9)Darker brown. I have just finished doing a facelift to my bathroom and when I changed the wall color to a color similar to yours, and painted the mirror white, I stopped before going further. My vanity has a white top and a dark brown bottom. Further, the baskets in the white shelves have dark brown webbing. It all looks really good together. I love the dark brown, white, and grey/green/blue combo....See MoreWhat furniture color to blend with living and dining room

Look at all the above photos for design inspiration...pillows, baskets, rugs, throws, lighting and artwork show your personality and make the place your home....See MoreIdeas For Use of Grandmother's Old Dining Room Hutch and Buffet
Comments (31)I live by William Morris' quote: "If you want a golden rule that will fit everything, this is it: Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful." Your pieces are lovely, no question, but that doesn't mean they are right for you. Keeping things because you have a sense that you "should," regardless of whether that comes from guilt, love, memories, or any other reason is really, truly not a reason to keep them. My mother is on Hospice (my father died in 2012), and when she goes probably almost everything in the very large family home will be sold to antique dealers (if it has value these days) and in a massive garage sale. There are five children and I know four of us want very little. My other sister, who might take more, can't because she lives in low-income housing and has only a small studio. I wouldn't take any of it because I have what I love acquired over the years--and I want no more. To me, it's better that it be sold to someone outside the family IF that someone will love it and make it theirs than for it to stick around, unloved and possibly resented, just to keep it in the family because those kinds of feeling, which will grow with each year it takes up room, will eventually lead to just getting rid of it any way, any place....See MoreRelated Professionals
