Google gifts for 2 year old girls. There should be a top 10 list and select one of those items in your price range. I do that for my great nephew for I always want to get him a "surprise". And it's hit the target every time. When in doubt, there are always books.

Find out if she has a theme she likes like Frozen or Paw Patrol or simply the color pink. Get her something in the theme. I prefer to get clothes, but you may not know her well enough to guess a size. You can get her a beach towel or something she can use. My last resort is toys because my kids always had way too many. They had so many they didn't even play with them.

A book such as "Goodnight Moon" ... lots of pictures that a little kid can look at and be soothed by.

Pink Leotards and a tu tu! Sorry, last night I saw the cutest Tiktok with a two year old playing in her tardies and sequined tutu. She was having a blast dancing and obviously loved her sparkly tutu.

How apropos for me! My great-niece is turning two as well. Her parents don't like a lot of stuff in their house so I'll definitely contribute to her college fund, but would like to give her a small toy as well. Sorry to piggyback, SamKaren.

Stick to classic toys like Lego Duplo, wooden building blocks, wooden puzzles, Fisher Price play sets or similar, finger paints, Playdough sets, and bath toys. She will get enough pink themed and girly toys that will get set aside long before the classics. Toy musical instruments are a hit at this age also. If you have a zoo or park with kiddie rides and such in the area admission tickets are also nice gift. Both my grand kids loved pretend play food at this age also. The good quality stuff is rubber like, not plastic and will last for years. Melissa and Doug toys are also well made and excellent for the age groups they list.

Ditto on the finger paint (depending on parent's tolerance LOL), playdough, crayons with paper or coloring books. They like things that they can exercise their growing manual dexterity - my DD loved stickers at that age too. Also a small doll or figure that would fit into her hand (think My Little Pony sized) for imagination play.

Books, either for her to look at or to be read to her, are always great. I would avoid trinkets that just become clutter - like toy jewelry - even though they delight a 2 year old.

I saw THESE yesterday and thought they were so clever because they are easily folded up and stored away when not in use. They say for age 3+, but the parent can put away any small pieces. I'm also a fan of Melissa and Doug play food collections. Two is the perfect age for that.

Toy vacuum cleaner. Shopping cart. Cell phone. A Two wants to 'do it herself', just like Mommy, but doesn't have great small muscle control yet.

We have a two-year-old granddaughter who was given two of the same thing recently (she turned two in July). One came to us for her to play with here because she spends weekday mornings with us. It is her favorite "play pretend" toy and it keeps her occupied for long periods of time. It says for ages 3 and up, but she loves it. I like this small company and we have bought lots of things from them (table and chairs set, play food and grocery, etc.). I need to get another set because out three-year-old lab mix has chewed up one cone and one scoop of ice cream. Sigh.

Yes to the Melissa and Doug toys. Anything soft or with large enough pieces to handle and manipulate for a 2-3 year old would be appropriate. If you have access to a children’s specialty toy store, they usually carry these toys, but they probably can be found on Amazon too. I second the grocery carts, fake groceries, lawn mowers, vacuum cleaners, anything that can be handled easily by a toddler. And I always appreciated books appropriate for the age if the parents are trying to start a library for their kids.

We have a two yr old in the family - lots of years where we've had 2 yr olds to buy for over the years with DH's big family ;0)

Kids today seem to have SO MANY toys. I've self imposed a toy rule - if its bigger than a shoe box and will need to have some place for 'mom' to put it away, I don't buy it ;0) Honestly, without a designated playroom which we didn't have growing up, I wouldn't know where all this stuff goes.

With grandparents pitching in for the current wants, I'll often do a book, leggings and tee or top. It may not be the most exciting gift the child receives at their birthday party but functional and will never require a storage locker rental....

I do try to do comfortable and quality, often turning to Hannah Andersson which the moms seem to appreciate. They turn into hand-me-downs rather than wearing out.

Perhaps I am hopelessly out of date, but a small cuddly doll is often loved by a child that age. (I raised four daughters.)

I always go for books. Agree that kids has so many toys these days. I’ve gotten books as gifts for all my nieces and nephews at most birthdays and they are always well received. My sister in law once told me that she always loved that her kids would typically get books from Aunt Bluebell.
