Floof-ish! New food discoveries!
Comments (33)If anyone likes hard seltzer now and then, I found one I really like that is very refreshing in summer. It’s called Truly, and is similar to White Claw, but I like it better. The citrus flavors are my favorite....a mix of grapefruit, lemon, lime and orange. Only 100 calories, 1 g sugar and 2 carbs. I don’t usually even drink carbonated beverages, but this seems very light for a refreshing change after working in the yard in the hot summer....See MoreFood floof! Flex your feast!
Comments (39)All the foods above look and sound so perfect. I can taste them all the way up here! My duck, despite its wild adventures escaping the resident duck dog, turned out beautifully! It was so moist and so juicy and so flavorful and so aromatic, just like its name and I am being so modest! 😊 The skin was crispy, dark, and so flavorful. We were both very pleased with it. DH says he likes it better than turkey. We saved every bit of the wonderful duck fat drippings. The other dishes were very tasty. I overcooked the cranberry-orange relish, not burnt, just mushy. The cornbread dressing was a dry. Not having even a bit of turkey meat in it was the main problem. No one can mess up steamed broccoli and I did make the Hollandaise sauce for it....See MoreFloof: What is your favorite wine?
Comments (51)I love dry red wine, mostly Cabernets. I've been buying this Chateau Fage at my local store which is super dry and only $10a bottle. Bogle cabernet and merlot are decent for about the same price. California wines may be good but tend to be more expensive. Stag's Leap is a favorite of ours but we save it for special occasions. Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand is good for a change. I use it a lot for piccata and scampi type dishes and finish the bottle just for fun....See MoreFloof! Your "thing"
Comments (33)When I posted above about my hobbies of antique collecting , plant collection, and my koi, I have three more passions I completely forgot at that moment. Growing up as an only child I was allowed no pets except the parakeet I bought at age 12 with my own money. I told my mother when I got married I would have many many pets and I have. I've had a beloved African Grey parrot and four dogs but my greatest love is cats and I have had 18 over the decades. The most were six at a time and presently I have three. Yes , I AM a cat lady! The next hobby is reading and I read at least two books a week and always have five or six library ones waiting. And the last hobby is running/walking/hiking. I started running in the 70's and ran a few 5Ks but that was it . Nothing like my daughter who has run 18 marathons and her son will do his first Boston in April , one she ran five times. When I got older I switched off running to speed walking around my town for 3-4 miles a day but my greatest love is hiking the Appalachian trail every day for two years since Covid started. I have "done" the trail since I've hiked 2448 miles and the whole course is 2175 miles. That's what I tell the thru hikers kiddingly. Not fair since my stretch isn't nearly as strenuous as some they encounter. And yesterday I stood near a herd of 38 deer. I counted them....See Moreamylou321
