Need help finishing our bedroom!
I recently renovated my bedroom, and am struggling on the final touches. I can't seem to figure out what rug to buy because the stock photos online seem to clash with customer photos, and am not sure what other accessories would help complete the room.
I am thinking a gray ombre rug with about .5 to .75 pile, but I am struggling to find true grays or more on the blueish side, definitely avoiding brown, while also not breaking the bank. I am also thinking about throwing in a plant or something in the corner to the right (it is a decent sized space that isn't shown, and I intend to hang a large round mirror and maybe put a bench of some sort). Opposite of the TV is a large dresser that matches the nightstands and a hung tv.
Any insight and help (especially with links!) is greatly appreciated!
If it helps: The back wall is a dark blue Venetian plaster, while the other walls are a true gray (on the darker side). The Pendants are also concrete, so do have texture that you can't see. The end tables are a bit more cherry than shown in the photo (Alton set from Living Spaces)

Comments (11)Your room is very nice. But I think to fill that wall with art/photos, you're either going to have to have very large pieces or many of them. It's not possible to tell from the one view, but the first thing I thought when I saw your pic is that I would move the head of the bed over to that wall. I am assuming there is a window on the other side of the bed to match the one we see? If so, then that wall between them is much smaller for hanging art. It also might be possible to partially block the view of the dog crates if they are behind the bed when entering the room (or could they go on the wall the door is on, so they aren't so prominent from the door view?) Comments (1)Option one with a smaller budget is to keep the same layout, swap the existing tub for a free-standing one. 5'6 wide shower is enough for 2, it looks like the length of it is about the same minus the bench. You can always shrink the vanities to expand the shower , you defiantly don't need 11'5 for vanity's. Option two if budget allows to re-route the plumbing, you can do the entire bathroom over-haul like moving the wall and vanities forward to expand the closet, shrink the vanity space and move the toilet on the vanity wall and the rest will be all shower. Comments (31)Olivia- answering your question-I guess what you had originally is what I like. Navy curtains straight down. Skip the valance, would be great if you got rid of those wood blinds, but I understand if its a no go zone. Can I suggest room darkening curtains, they work well with blocking sunlight in the mornings. I did this in my room, just to avoid the whole blind thing and when I open the curtains the full window is exposed and lets in all the light. Agree with doods- longer rod, fuller curtains ( wider in size ). I have had 2 curtain panels stitched together to make a wider curtain before.. Not too high curtain rod setting either. Maybe a little puddling on floor to give it that romantic feel. Navy curtains I like, nice contrast against the lighter wall. Is that gold ( yellow ) in that artwork? ..so maybe add some gold accent in the room, either in throw blanket or throw pillow. Good luck!...See More

3 years agoi feel like you have such a great start and just need to bring in some more personality with accessories. so some questions that may be able to help...what mood do you want for the room? I would say that could be a good start, or do you have a specific piece that you want to bring in that we could use as a jumping off point or maybe its that you want it to be a neutral room without alot of color or maybe moody. the room can go in so many directions so getting a starting point is key..mood, sentimental piece, etc. to me based on your current furnishings you like modern, with a mid century vibe. do you have any inspiration pictures that you love...just trying to get your design juices flowing... a few inspiration pics that have a modern mcm feeling

3 years agodo you have a chair picked out? couldnt tell if you have one and are just trying to compliment it or if you are looking for one... heres some ideas just in case you are looking. for one... could go light to contrast with the darker walls or go moody with darker colors
