Need help with master bedroom window treatments
Comments (6)Love the Shoei pocket door! I am assuming you wish to keep the minimalistic look for the space. I would go with fabric roller shades inside and against the window, for reasons of simplicity and function and cost. You could go with light filtering or opaque. You would still be able to use the window sill for a decorative object or two if you wish - something that you would not be able to do with shutters. You mention wishing to block noise. If noise is an issue then cellular shades would help a bit more. Get ones with "fingertip lift" so that there are not tangle-y cords laying on the window sill or trailing down the wall when they are up. If you wish to maximize the view out, since the windows are so small, keep in mind that cellular shades will still block about more of the window than a roller shade will when up....See MorePlease help select window treatments for DDs bedroom

I think either choice is fine, though with any panels, it looks like you would need to move the dresser you've placed between the two windows. One advantage of the chocolate drapes is that they would be more room darkening. Another option would be to go with the dotted sheers to echo the bedding. I checked the website and they have white with chocolate dots (even on sale!) which you could layer with a chocolate roller shade. I wonder if you could paint the shades you have now with fabric paint. You can echo the same WTs' over the closet area as well. I know you didn't ask about room layout, but if you do opt for panels, I'd suggest placing her bed between the two windows with the nightstand off to the side. As it looks like the desk and bookcases are part of a unit, I was wondering why you split them up? It would seem more functional to group them together on the long wall where the bed is now, though perhaps there is not enough clearance. I have 3 kids, two high school age and I find it very practical to have a nice study area with plenty of desk space and shelving nearby. Pretty room and I must say I am partial to the colors having only recently done both of my two DD's room in varying shades of aqua (one like you did it, the older one more of a turquoise). Comments (8)One of the 5 windows in my office has its right drape panel a bit behind a secretary desk in here. It doesn't bother me, but you may feel otherwise. My roller shades block the sun and gives me total privacy if I choose to close them at night. My shades cover the full glass part of my windows, but not the outside trim. My windows are standard double hung, and yours appear to be sliding windows. If you do get shades, no matter what material type, and close them at night (just an assumption on my part) wouldn't you need to raise them in order to open the window if you choose to? Would that bug you at all? I may be prejudiced toward drapes, as I make them myself and love fabrics, so change them more often than others might. Here is a pic that I found online with a window similar to yours that may help you decide....See MoreHELP! Master Bedroom Window Treatments
Comments (8)We have a master with a lake view and although it might be a bit more than your budget, we have a blackout cellular cordless shade with motorized lift. It goes across a window similar in span to the three panes on the left side of your photo. It has a remote control and it is a fun thing for us to press a button to behold the morning view from the bed before getting up. We have non-motorized cellular shades on our smaller windows....See MoreRelated Professionals
