Sunday's Best Seedlings - Part 1 of 2
Comments (8)Val, you stole what I was gonna say lol. All are just gorgeous, but #2 and the last pic have beautiful form and colors in my newbie opinion, at least those are the kind I gravitate toward. At first glance the last one looked like a plain orange sorbet color to me then I started looking closer. Alot of subtle detail there. I love it....See MoreIt's raining! Comments (18)Thanks everyone for your comments. It really is helpful in deciding what to keep. A few seem to be the favorites. Jean, Celeste, Avedon--Wish I could send you all some rain. We've been pretty lucky this year--especially considering what so many of you are going through. I've only had to drag the hoses out a couple of times. mantis, I think the cross on the first one is America's Most Wanted x Spacecoast Starburst, but the marker seems to have disappeared. Comments (10)Laura, I love each and every one of your 'babies'! How exciting for you to see them bloom. As you know, I'm just starting with the seedling addiction and it will be another year or two (or more, in my climate) before I see blooms. I always love to see what others are getting from their crosses. Each of these has great merit and are beautiful to my eye. I'm loving the green throats on the first three and the last 4 are so vibrant, with great form and color. I could actually tell they had Emmerich in them. You've done a great job, daylily mama!...See MoreMy seedlings 2019 part 1
Comments (13)Thanks SO much everyone!! I gave myself a headache spending so much time on computer yesterday, but I really wanted to get that done (group all my sdlgs) just took longer than I thought what with Houzz not posting and then posting twice ugh.. Thanks, Julia! I wish I had more room for experiments. Thanks Sherry!! DH also doesn't like oranges but there's something about that orange I like )) I agree completely, bad opening is not acceptable, do not remember prev years, just sad that some with the best plant habits have those flaws. Haha I get it about keeping the seedlings! Kay, thanks for the likes!! Thanks Nancy! I hope 2nd will only improve from now on )) Thanks Signet! I really think 29 is one of my best, thanks for liking! Thanks Debra!! Those are among my very favorites. Oooh it's so hard to cull! Number one is my biggest flower at 6.5, lots of stuff is splotchy this year, even light ones, which is ridiculous, so hopefully next year will be a clear year )) Thanks Jennifer! I should really make a decision re #16 lol it's hard!...See Moreroseseek
