Bedroom double closet with sliding doors whole hogging wall.
Comments (1)Some pictures would help. But it sounds like you have a studio apartment. With an east facing window, this also suggest you only get morning natural light, the rest of the day with no natural light. With this in mind, and if floor space is sufficient, I would suggest the following layout. Note you would need to make adjustments based upon the space you have available. Items in the floor plan: bed (one with storage headboard would be nice); 2 storage side tables with lamps on each side of the bed: recliner parallel with the bed; a free standing floor mirror next to the window; a floor lamp on each side of the sliding closet door; an entertainment unit with the TV on top at the foot of the bed (will need to cover electrical cords with a rug. Hope this helps....See MoreBedroom Closet door suggestions appreciated!
Comments (12)THank you for the responses. Very appreciated! Here's another picture of the room to get some sort of idea what our tastes are. I def don't want a cheap feeling or looking door! There is room for french doors and that's definitely a consideration. I'm a bit overwhelmed for some reason on doors! We literally have no doors in the apt! We removed them all when we started the renovations. Leaning towards single panel doors but again have not made any choices yet. A question is how tall to make the closet doors. Ceiling height i a little over 8 feet. The mirrored bi-folds that we removed were floor to ceiling. We have the same set up in the hallway closet that we redid and that also has no doors! For the hallway, I think bifolds make best sense as I don't really like sliding doors and the hallway is only 38" wide. I've attached a picture of the messy unfinished hall closet! That's about 7 feet x 28" deep. Also need a bedroom door, hall bathroom door, master bathroom door (in another thread) The apartment master bedroom closet and hallway closet seemed to have been designed for floor to ceiling bi folds..Ceiling height 98" I am wondering if it will look a little nicer to build down a few inches for these closets and am searching for ideas. Thanks again for the comments! Entry to bedroom Hall Closet Bedroom...See Morenarrow low hallway:white or natural interior closet and bedroom doors?
Comments (2)I'd consider white doors with a mcm style for the hall, and then continue the white trim into the rest of your spaces. You may be able to keep the other stained doors if your trim is consistent, or you might want to switch them all out to be the same. Are your current doors a flat slab? Are they nice quality or not? Do you have stained trim everywhere?...See MoreBedroom: Add Closet & Move/Delete Doors
Comments (7)I’d close off the upper door and make that area the closet with centered/double 30” wide/mirrored doors that swing completely open, with hanging/shelves/drawers on the back/sides of the closet. King bed on exterior wall. There’s plenty of space and clearance. Are there any windows in the bedroom? If not, could windows be installed so they flank the bed? Do the double exterior doors have any windows? (I hope so!) Does it make sense to have access to the outside from that side of the living area through that lower space? If so, than the lower area could become a pass through (mud room), but the bedroom would need another door…where ever it works best for furniture placement. Otherwise, If the budget allowed, I’d install windows beside the exterior doors so that wall would be all windows....See MoreWestCoast Hopeful
