It would be helpful to see the space without that blue thing in the picture.

The light would be in the entry/foyer area (towards the blue double doors), replacing the one shown in these pictures.

This is looking the other directions (from the kitchen). We are actually about to install a capiz shell light over the dining room table. I really like Modern Mediterranean/Italian or Spanish Modern (trying to transition over....slow process).

I don’t love it. The blue door is so unique. I think adding a blue light will make neither shine and they will compete for attention.

The fixture is beautiful but wouldn’t show it best in tight entry. How about over dining table. Then it could breath and be seen from all directions. That’s quite a view!!

Thank you Flo. I just bought a fixture for dining room area. I probably need to get a better picture of the foyer. There is a 5 foot radius recessed into the ceiling about a foot and a half for a light in the foyer area. The rug sitting in the foyer is a 9 x 6 (just to give a better idea of the foyer area).

The current light that will be replaced is 30” x 24”. So the one in the pictures is the same length, but will be wider at the top and will narrow down (it will be specially made to fit the space), so the pictures aren’t more for the shape and color (not size). I will be special ordering it in a 36” x 24” (getting more narrow as it goes down). I was looking more at the color of the three and somewhat the shape (considering the size I will be specifying).

Boy it’s late....LOL My previous post doesn’t make sense in some areas, but in a nutshell, I’m trying to pick the style and color that goes best from the three lights posted, since I will be special ordering it and specifying the dimensions to fit the space.

I will also be paining over the stenciling.

BTW Flo, I do love the light over the dining room, but my husband and I compromised on that one with the agreement that I could pick out the foyer light. The one over the dining room table is more simple (it’s actually laying on top of the table in the picture).

This is the actual foyer where the light will replace the one in the picture. Note: I am actually special ordering the size and shape (specifying the measurements to fit in the recessed area of the ceiling. I can special order the colors if I want, but I like the three posted, just trying to choose one of the three color choices that I like best with the space.

I like the colors of 1 & 2. I think I like the colors of the 2nd but shape of the first.

I like the first, as it feels more airy and softer - actually liked it best from when you first posted the three styles. Either will be gorgeous and unique.

Just an FYI.. I have a similar light in my kitchen. I love the way it looks. However, it gives out almost no light. It's purely decorative only. Our kitchen has plenty of other lights so its not a problem. Also, the design prevents anyone from ever changing the tiny lights that are in it as no one could ever get close enough. They are LED and we rarely turn it on so its not really an issue for us. Lastly, it came unassembled and without directions. Our electrician refused to assemble it so my husband spent 6 hours attaching all 175 glass tubes. It looks great and its a good story when people ask about it!

Hi Maureen - Thank you. Great points. It is definitely more airy and softer than the other. We are at the beach, so that is good! It also seems to looks good with the doors as the backdrop (in my opinion).

Hi Bichonbabe, Thank you SO much for the valuable information. These are all things I’ve been wondering about after seeing the lights and reading that other people have also said it doesn’t give off much light. For this reason, I have asked the seller if I can buy extra lights; and he said yes (to make brighter. Now I’m wondering if I should ask for more for replacements. Is there no way to reach inside the cage to take out the light and replace it? This could make me change my mind, especially not knowing how long the lights will last. :(. BTW, I have a bichon too (mine is mixed with poodle). She’s the best fur baby I’ve ever had!!

Our fixture is a cone shaped wire basket and the glass tubes are wired to the basket. Attached to the basket are tiny Christmas tree bulbs. The longest tubes are about 3 feet long and the basket hangs down about 18 inches from the ceiling. The only way it would be possible to change the light bulbs would be to dissemble part of the fixture.

Of the two I like the second more colorful one since this is entry. Either will look good. You could do the darker one and paint the dome a reflective material such as gold leaf. For the lighter color the done could be the deepest blue of the fixture with the super fine glitter for a bit of extra sparkle. So think about done as you decide. 🧐

Thank you so much Flo! This is a GENIUS idea (gold/silver leaf or glitter)! I’m so excited about this now. Yes, I created this poll after my design dilemma didn’t get off to a good start. Lynartist brought this up in the other one. I thought a more straight forward approach, as I knew I LOVED the blown glass chandeliers, just wasn’t sure which would be the best to go with. I’m just now reading yours’ and the pictures above were SO helpful!! I am going to go with the more colorful one (the one that BeverlyFLADeziner placed in the recessed area above).

I believe the colors in the one you pasted are the best for the space, so as of now, that’s the one I’m going with. I’m only going to change the dimensions, so that they will best fit the space that I have. Also, the picture you posted with the red and green blown glass solidifies my decision of this style of lamp. STRIKING!! :)

It’s a beautiful entry and home so you kinda can’t go wrong. I wonder if there is a way to add more light in the dome? Possibly run a flexible molding around the lower edge and drop LED strip (not the type that reflects little pops of light) the ones that are more continuous. This would be the time to do it since you will have electrician and need some additional glam in that dome. Just something to think about. Lol.

Flo - What another AWESOME idea (some kind of LED strip lighting around the done)!! Those pictures with the domes and illuminating colors in the ceiling are beautiful!! There is going to be enough glam in this one little are for the entire place. LOL!! I am also going to ask the seller about using a different kind of led light (in addition to buying extra lights).
