Colors play a huge role in selling your home (especially in slow markets) and most buyers want a move-in ready home. I worked years in builder model homes in sales and many people would be turned on or off simply, just by the paint colors in a home. And if they did not like the paint many could not see passed it no matter what. Even when told they could build any plan, or make their own plan and pick any color of paint. It was a no go. They would be turned off by the paint and not imagine the home in any other color. When you do sell model homes 95% of the time the buyers choose the exact same plan, paint color and finishes of the model home, because people are visual and many need to see it to imagine it. They can't think outside the box, or very few are willing to imagine or want to go through the hassle of painting. Even on the real estate shows on TV one of the main comments they make about either liking a room or not is about the paint colors. People want a home they can move into that is move in ready, live in for a while then paint if they want. We always give our houses and any rooms with a custom paint color a fresh neutral paint job and always sell our homes before any others in our neighborhood and for top dollar. Making it fresh and neutral and move-in ready is all part of it. But if someone has no clue how to paint, how to choose appealing colors and are sloppy, I agree don't bother....See MorePlease help me choose a foyer light...
Comments (33)Is that a Kalco fixture? I looked at one in what I think it that same collection and loved it. The way it was hanging in the store reminded me of outdoor lanterns and I imagined camping and fireflies. Silly, I know, but talk about bringing the outdoors in! LOL It would be hanging in my breakfast room right now if it went with the kitchen fixture or I knew what to replace that one with. I suspect it may not be as large as your current fixture, but it has strong, simple lines and color, so I think it will still make a statement. The current one might be a bit too large for me anyway. I'd try to get measurements on that one if you can so you will have a better idea how it compares. If you want to hang it a little lower, you can probably order an extra down rod. I think it's worth pulling out the ladder and the measuring tape....See MoreFoyer Lighting help

Comments (3)Our lighting could be a great addition to your home. We do custom lighting so we will be able to work to feed your needs and wants. Different amount/design/size of pendants, and size of canopy and overall fixture height etc. For the spaces you are looking for the lighting, we would recommend mod, kadur, tamar, and maybe nava. Please see some of the images below for reference. We also do 3D drawing before so you can have an idea of what it would look like before committing!
