Blooming on a sweltering Saturday

Right now it's too hot to be out much. It's in the high 80's, but the humidity is terrible, pushing the heat index to 100. We were out this morning and got a few pictures.

Heavenly Pink Fang has made its appearance this year.

Highly Venomous got a slow start this year (it was planted last season), but seems to be picking up steam.

Meet Your Destiny was a bonus plant and it seems to be growing on me. It's a nice shade of pink.

Transylvanian Tango has taken its sweet time to look good. The plant has always looked good, but the flowers not so much. This season it has been pretty

Auntie Em has never looked like its picture in the database. I am sure it is Auntie Em, but don't know why it is always so pale (and short). It will be moved this fall and if it doesn't shape up, it will be out of here.

Belly Button Slipknots was a bonus plant. It is one of the few true spiders in the garden. I think I like it.

Explosion in the Paint Factory was lovely today.

Golden Glitz just started blooming. It is registered as late. It's a good grower and the flower is much larger than Sandra Elizabeth, a favorite very late daylily.

We have several late blooming seedlings starting to bloom. We are very excited about them. Here is one of them. It is Cactus Blossom X Never Too Late.

Kay you are right I thought Cosmic Traveler was the wrong color also. It was a bonus plant from the grower and that's what was on the tag. I guess I just have to add another Niod to the list. Thanks to everyone for all the nice comments and Caramel says thanks to. Caramel wandered into the yard one day with Little Boy and after a little trip to the vet to change their outlooks on life they both joined the cat family. Linda

I think Party Pinafore was bud building, Debra, but it is finished now. It is not listed as a bud builder, but i know it was on its last 2-3 buds for a long time. It bloomed right at 2 months, supposed to have 16-20 buds but most of the scapes had 25 or more. Really good year for it, I hope that does not mean it won't bloom next year.

Get Jiggy looks good. Mine pretty consistently put out patterns last year, the best it has ever done for that. Without the patterns there are others similar, but I like it, and as you say, it really puts out blooms. Big Hearted Jim has really been blooming for you! Love Vanilla Gorilla. It is in my bed around my little pond that the guy ran his car thru a couple if years ago. I have finally decided I am going to fill in the pond, getting too old for the upkeep I think. I have really let that flower bed go and my poor daylilies there are crying for help. I cto mention Linda Sierra, it looks wonderful, I do love purples. It looks ore purple there than I remember from other people's pictures, a good look for it!

I like Fancy Buttons too with the white midrib. It must be nice to have some shade midday. Some people grow their plants out in the fields like rows of corn. Good growth, but not a pleasant atmosphere on a hot sunny day. I am happy to have a garden where many plants get some shade. Much more enjoyable looking at them on a hot day (when one can retreat into the shade a few steps away). On the other hand, we all know how tree shade can increase and limit our areas.

I'm not really into pinks that much, but the first three pictures are very appealing for some reason - especially Highly Venomous. Belly Button Slipknots looks neat. I like your seedling, very pretty!

My favorites today are Meet Your Destiney and Transyvanian Tango. Your seedling is a pretty one too!

Transylvanian Tango is a lovely color and looks very pretty. Highly Venomous is a nice one, and I like Belly Button Slipknots and the name is amusing. I am always glad to see PITPF and your seedling is a beauty.
