Ok someone please turn off the heat, anyway here are some new ones for today.

Caramel is my favorite! Seriously though, the blooms are all really pretty. COSMIC TRAVELER wins my vote for favorite. A very pretty pink. I like the red NO ID also.

Another cat vote. He/She is a pretty cat to boot...I like the pink double noid in particular. The first seedling is a beauty too, but they are all noteworthy.....Marly

When you visit the Florida Botanical Garden in Largo, also cross over the foot bridge to Heritage Village (a link on the FBG website or http://www.pinellascounty.org/heritage/ ). They are both awesome. And free! "Come visit this 21-acre living history museum located in the heart of Pinellas County. Hi Toni I'm sorry to hear about the bad news on flooded basements and about your lost in the basement. I hope everything gets better soon for everyone and that everyone gets their electric back soon. I will say a prayer so that god helps everyone and things get better soon I'm just looking for a book that has info on gardenias as well as other plants like roses, palm trees and basil. Toni: how do you take care of your gardenias? I see that your gardenias look good. I want to know what care do you give them to see if It helps me with this gardenia thats giving me a headace May be you can spray the garden safe 3 and 1 fungicide it controls spiders and mites. LOL about the rabbit. may be it's a cat that might be eatting the leaves of your plant. all my gardenias expect one is doing great. I have 7 gardenias one is in between and the other 6 are doing great. I do have a rose that looks sick. can you give me some advice on how to take care of rose plants please? I think you still could feed your gardenia until november. I water the gardenias with de-still water since I have hard tap water and I hear that is bad for them and makes their leaves go yellow. Julie- I have had Purple Coneflowers around the garden for years. They do seed in the oddest places sometimes but its not a big deal to pull them up move them if its not what I want. I don't dead head as first they attract butterflies with the flowers and then as soon as the Purple Coneflowers set seed, the Goldfinches come and eat on them. The garden here is very much for attracting backyard songbirds, butterflies, hummingbirds and bees. In fact right in back of the daylily plateu in the backyard is another smaller shelf in which I plant sunflowers. Each end of that little tier has a butterfly bush and then sunflowers in the middle going along in a row. I started the sunflowers there last year after I had those garden beds made as I figgured I needed to do something there but it worked out so well that its been picked as the plant sunflowers here spot forever. The goldfinches sure do love to come and eat the sunflowers,even before the seeds are fully ripe. In the picture of GRACE LIKE RAIN that I had above the daisey like things are cosmos and the yellow buds and closed flowers are 4 O'Clocks. They might look funny as the flowers open late in the day and this picture was taken too early for them to be open.

Glad you all enjoyed the photos. More are starting to bloom. MAGIC HAPPENS is hybridized by Louise James of Cedarthorn Gardens. I bought that one plus a couple others about 4 years ago from Louise. MH increases rapidly here and last year I moved the original clump and divided it. It has been registered as having a yellow throat but here, I see yellow to green. Anyway, it is a good performer here. Yes, it does look that white early in the morning turning to an off white by late in the day.It is a shorter daylily at 22 inches so I have it along a path so it is in front. The second clump that came from the division is sitting in a spot I had some Westbournes growing in. Didn't know where else to put it. If you do a search here on the forum I have posted pics of it in the past couple of years. Julia

Love your seedling. Your photos are a little large to tell for sure but your Noid double looks a lot like Forty Second Street. My vote as favorite goes to Caramel...The daylily fav is Cosmic Traveler. lovely photos...Ellie

Caramel is working hard just like my Fat Cat Nemo...haha. Every time I see Caramel I wish I could pet him, he just looks so soft and loveable.
My favorite daylily is your first seedling. That is a dynamite-looking bloom with everything I like in a daylily, bright pink and a ruffly yellow edge. It is wonderful.

I love how you put Caramel in the middle of the pics. Cute.

The first seedling pic is very good.

I wish I could turn down the heat for you but we have a similar issue but probably not as hot as you.

Caramel is a beauty. We are getting the heat this weekend too: supposed to be 95 Saturday...Your blooms are lovely, I love the one you have labeled Cosmic Traveler, and I don't know what it is, but that isn't it. cosmic Traveler is a bagel of Trimmer's. It is more purple than pink and doen;t have that lovely eye.

I really like your seedling and your red NOID. Pewter Duchess is a lovely delicate bloom too.

The first seedling is my favorite flower. I also like the looks of Pewter Duchess. Caramel's fur looks so soft. I wish I could pet him.

Kay you are right I thought Cosmic Traveler was the wrong color also. It was a bonus plant from the grower and that's what was on the tag. I guess I just have to add another Niod to the list. Thanks to everyone for all the nice comments and Caramel says thanks to. Caramel wandered into the yard one day with Little Boy and after a little trip to the vet to change their outlooks on life they both joined the cat family.

It seems I did not submit the post I had for this one, so here it is again, Love all your beautiful blooms, always spectacular. I do have a thing for Elfin Illusion and I have never seen Pewter Duchess, wonderful color--will look up that one. Caramel is a love, and taking the job of garden helper very seriously. Avedon

Well Linda, it is a beauty of a NOID. That same little fun thing has happened to me...annd to that my normal stupidity and name dyslexia and I have to be corrected a lot. (Heaven's Edge for Heaven's Echo...Cerulean bluboird instead of Cerulean Warbler...then got Green Jay when it was supposed to be Bird Talk...what can you do but smile)
