Easy Way to Remove Blackberries, No Chemicals
Comments (23)I don,t post here very often but this has been such a big problem for me I had to chime in. The bigger leafed ones can be killed by cutting down the canes the smaller leafed ones spread under ground. I have been mowing my field for years and the small ones just won,t give up . The bigger ones were killed the first year here. I read a article somewhere a few years ago about the different types of blackberrys and the roots can spread and come up as far away as 80 feet with the right kind of berry. I just don,t remember thier names. But it does seem to be my exp. with the smaller leafed ones....See Morein MI, home part mod/part stick no numbers help!
Comments (4)There's more than one solution to this. If it has been completely remodeled, contact the County Appraisal office and find out what else needs to be done to have it appraised as a permenant type house. This is from memory of a previous conversation and may not be everything but, part of the requirement has to do with making the cinder blocks permenant. Normally they are just stacked. They need to be cemented together, etc. Then it becomes part of the real estate and will be appraised as such. If you want to sell just the mobile home and have it moved, apply for a lost title. Contact the DMV for the proper forms or search the internet. Contact the manufacturer if you know who it is and they might be able to help locate a number elsewhere on whats left of the original home. I'm sure it must be somewhere other than on the tag at the ends of the home. Probably close to name tag....See MoreEasy way to remove wall paint from molding
Comments (3)Okay - I know I asked a lot of questions but there are so many things home owners and builders do to their homes it pays to find out all you can - especially if you are troubleshooting. Based on what you said - you probably have latex wall paint and a latex semi-gloss on your trim. Molding should be caulked if it is not. Thsi bleeding under the tape is usually caused by not firmly pressing the tape edge down and by pressing a fully loaded paint brush into the tape edge hoping to get a good cut in line. In my experiance you should only cut into a taped edge with a brush that is not dripping with paint. Let brush below the tape line a few strokes before getting right into the tape edge. This will help keep loads of paint from pressing into the tape edge and encouraging the seepage under the tape. Lightly paint up to the tape edge, going over the tape edge with a lightly loaded brush - don't glob it in there trying to cover in one stroke and coat. Build the color at the tape edge. Hold you brush straight up and down. Tilting the brush will encourage paint to go where no painters wants it to go. For you - I would tape off the new wall paint and repaint the part of the trim that has the bleeding paint. This should go fast as you don't have to paint the whole molding and if you follow the tips above, you shouldn't have to worry about additional seepage. Take your time - make a good tape line and don't over load your brush. It may take two coats but it beats trying to clean up right against the newly painted wall with deep colors. Make sure to use high quality painters tape. Good luck....See MoreRecommendations for cheap temporary kitchen floor in period home?
Comments (5)Vinyl is the cheapest way, but it really isn't that cheap in less you can get it prepackaged in the roll, which is what we ended up doing - I wanted vinyl but couldn't decide so I went to Home Depot and decided I wasn't leaving till I picked something to put down as I was tired of the plywood floor - while looking at the big rolls, I turned around and found ours - $50 for a 9x12 and we taped it down, put molding around it and what's nice is if we ruin it, no biggie - remove the molding, pull it up, and put a new piece down - it sits right next to hardwood and looks nice. Personally speaking, if it is only a year, why waste the money - we lived with a horrible sink base and tiny countertop pulling out most of the kitchen for about a year after moving in/redoing ours till we could get the money together and decide what we wanetd. I refused to use some of the stuff so we ripped it out as it was nasty. The best vinyl's we found were just basic/neutral that weren't heavy patterned. I really like ours as we are DIY the rest of the house and it is easy to clean, doesn't get dirty easily, and doesn't scratch. It was only supposed to be temporary, but it's staying as it grew on me. Oh, I should mention, it really wasn't just $50 - the tape was about $10 for two rolls, then you have the plywood subfloor as ours was rotted out - about $200 as I didn't want luan (not as good as solid plywood), deck screws, and other misc. supplies, and the molding to match the cabinets....See Moresuedonim75
