FloorService Hardwax Oil - Is it really "hard" enough for my floor?

last modified: 3 years ago

We are resurfacing old white oak and read that hardwood oils and waxes are beautiful but impractical and high maintenance. There is a product called Floorservice® hardwax-oil Classic that is reportedly "guaranteed to be highly resistant to wear and water resistant since it contains silicid acid. [It] protects against stains caused by wine, beer, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juices, milk and of course water (in conformity with DIN 68861, 1A). The Floorservice® hardwax-oils are also resistant to saliva and sweat (in conformity with DIN 53160) and make [the] floor child friendly since they meet the requirements for children’s toys (in conformity with EN 71). In addition to this, the Floorservice® hardwax-oils meet anti-slip standard R9."

Does anyone have experience with this product or other oils or waxes with curing element in them and not needing a finish. We love the natural look and do expect some maintenance but we can't do crazy maintenance or deal with big problems from simple spills from kids and adults. We are going for a lighter floor with browns and a touch of grey but no red or yellow...

Many thanks!
