How can I make this bathroom more modern and pretty? Will putting 2 mirrors instead of that big one help?

What are you willing to do?

Are you willing to change out the vanity?

You can paint it a lighter version of your floor color. But, I would research how it’s done properly if DIY.

I would add handles to the drawers and doors.

you can also look into gel staining. You can make it an espresso color.

Old Masters has a gel stain called Carbon Black. You can still see the wood grain.

I think you are correct about having 2 mirrors under the 2 lights.

You'll likely need to do some light plumbing work if the new sink drain is in a different location (meaning re-work the drain pipe and trap). Not too hard, you can get PVC parts at hardware store or big box store. Just do some reading on code, there can't be too many bends or pieces between the sink and the wall, and S-traps are not legal anymore. Other than that just reattach the water hot and cold supply lines according to the directions on your new faucet.

Since you're looking to do most of the labor yourself, your biggest expense is going to be the vanity followed by the counter top. It's crazy how much these two things will cost. For the vanity, consider checking out places that offer second hand building materials. Then, look into remnants the counter fabricator may have leftover from other jobs.

Thank you. The vanity is a repurposed dresser I bought for $150 on FB Marketplace. Retrofitted it to fit the space. All drawers are functional for the much needed storage.

You could just frame your current mirror. But in my opinion, I think having two separate mirrors would look great. As eld6161 mentioned, a darker vanity would also look good!
