stone tudor -- exterior color scheme? HELP!
Comments (45)I also love the original bath (black/white) and what looks to be the original tile floor in the third floor bath. Your stone wall and pillars are wonderful, too. Did you remove the rhododenron near those? I'll bet they are lovely in the spring. Thanks for the tip to click on the picture to see the whole album!...See MoreShould interior design style match the home's achitectural style?
Comments (26)I would say colonial style and scandi go well together. I disagree strongly that you should keep to the original style of the house. However, as a designer, I would say different ideas look better together if they share some similar characteristics or are related - as colonial and scandi are. I think there some degree of lightness and openess in both style, turned wood in both scandi and colonial furniture, although lighter wood and white in scandi. With a keen eye and careful research, two styles that share some common denominators can always work; otherwise you risk looking like a museum otherwise. I would not mix tudor and scandi for instance or high victorian english, as they are diametrically opposed, but if they share components, go ahead....See MoreGetting rid of Tudor exterior
Comments (16)This question reminds me so much of what happened on my street. All the houses were built in the late 70's , and probably a full third of them were 2 story tudor, just like your photo. Over a few years everyone took their wood strips off and erased the tudor look ( including me), and replaced with siding. One owner left it but repainted all the stucco board and wood strips and trim, replaced the front door and windows and landscaped. I am pretty envious today as she definitely, IMO, has the nicest house on the street and the only one that doesnt have cookie cutter siding. Go figure.....See MoreWhich entry door works the best with English Tudor house?
Comments (31)If having glass for light is important -- more important to you than the Tudor style -- forget the Tudor style for your pending door purchase and go with your favorite style. YOUR style should be the front door to YOUR home. You could save the current door in the attic or basement or garage -- putting it back in place if you later want to sell the house specifically as a "Tudor". If you want double doors and glass, choose that. I don't understand these supposed (extremely low) "prices" unless this is for toy doll house doors -- know what you're getting and from whom you're getting it ... and what info you're giving out to do so ... would be wary of this site. But. I do like the look of this double door. https://eoutlet.shopsfashion2021.com/content?c=wooden%20front%20doors%20with%20glass%20panels&id=28...See Morechispa
