COVID-19 dreams
Comments (55)My dreams are more vivid than usual, but I am still having the same dreams that I often have. Last night I had one of my recurring dreams in which I am somewhere in San Francisco trying to get back to my flat on Guerrero and 17th Street. I think I was leaving a restaurant in the avenues in the evening, but I noticed that I didn't have my wallet and only had my keys in one pocket plus a quarter, a nickel, and a dime in the other pocket. While standing at the bus stop, I considered asking someone for a quarter so that I would have bus fare (It was 60¢ in this dream, and so who knows when that was?), but then I decided to look for change on the street. I happened to find another quarter and a dime on the street, and so I picked it up, relieved that I would have the fare but mad that I did not have my Muni Fastpass with me. I could not remember which direction I was supposed to go but figured that I would eventually get to a street where I could figure out where I was. When I got on the bus, I had trouble putting the coins in the slot, and so I gave the money to the bus driver, and he gave me a transfer. After going a few blocks and not knowing where I was or where I was going, I asked the bus driver if he went to Market Street, and he said, "Yes, and you asked just in time because it is the next stop." The bus crossed Market Street, and I got off, happy to know how to get home. I had to cross back over Market Street and decided I would take a streetcar to Fillmore Street, where I could catch the 22 bus to 16th and Guerrero - just one block from where I wanted to go. I had trouble finding the streetcar stop, but a man on the street who was waiting for a bus walked me over to where I could catch a streetcar. The next streetcar that came was the N Judah, and as I got on, I asked the streetcar driver if he went to Fillmore Street, and of course he said yes, but I was not sure where the tunnel was. Anyway, I managed to transfer to the 22 Fillmore bus, but I woke up before I got to Guerrero Street. Usually when I have this dream, I do not make it to Market Street and end up wandering around San Francisco on various buses, completely disoriented. For some reason, I seem to be focusing better now. This is somewhat similar to the dream I had on April 12 but less anxiety producing. ETA: When I picked up the quarter on the street, I noticed that it had an Aztec symbol on the back but George Washington's head on the front. I also had another dream about San Francisco this morning. Perhaps this is because we had planned to go to SF this summer but won't be going this year....See MoreParticipants needed for Covid-19 research
Comments (2)I neglected to edit out the reference to "impact on cancer and other diseases" ! This study is for anyone, any age, chronically ill or perfectly healthy, and is not just about the impact on chronic illness. I received the notice from the American Cancer Society so that is why it mentions cancer specifically....See MoreMy most recent questions re: Covid 19
Comments (24)#1 Any germies on the mask came from you. I have one mask in my car I wear only when inside a building. Don't make this a prison. Calm down. Getting over paranoid is a waste of energy. #2 Yes you are safe to play with your dog. You always were. If you encounter a neighbor's dog and wish to pet it--do. Upon return to your home it is always good practice to wash your hands and keep them away from your face. #3 It is an airborne virus. It is virulent before people have symptoms. Wear your mask. Wash your hands. Stay home as a matter of lifestyle. Business have to start up..but that does't mean we should be willy nilly about leaving home. #4 Remember we stay home to slooow down who gets ill. NO ONE said this would save lives, they said they wanted to flatten the curve meaning decrease who is sick at any given time, so hospitals can deal with the worst cases and not lose people due to not being able to treat them. People spreading this I hope are unaware they have it because they are silent carriers or they aren't yet feeling ill. Which is why EVERYONE ALWAYS should wear a mask when inside a building. It helps all of us!!...See MoreAny Updates on Your Families/Friends with Covid-19?
Comments (65)sheilajoyce -- What an awful waste. Makes me angry on top of sad. My condolences to you and your family. I cannot understand the sheer selfishness of people who can't be bothered to wear a mask because they think *they* 'don't have it'. Asymptomatic people with Covid are the worst spreaders. Every one of them adds to the odds that another person will sicken, further spread Covid, even die. We don't even know yet what happens *later* to people with Covid who are currently asymptomatic. Please, everyone: Mask. Wash. Observe physical distancing. (As Dr. Michael Osterholm says, it's not really 'social' distancing'. The KT is an example of continuing to be 'social', just without physical proximity that can be lethal.)...See MoreElmer J Fudd
