I am looking to get my backyard patio redone. We currently have thick slabs of concrete that is cracked, uneven, and not leveled. We also do not know how deep the concrete goes, I would think at the minimum it is 4 inches deep. The space is about 250 sq ft and I am looking to have an interlock pave flooring done. I do not know whether or not the concrete really has to be removed entirely or if the pavers can really go ontop.

I was trying to imagine it all in my head and at one point I was thinking I could have someone remove the concrete, and then I could install the pavers myself.

I am trying to look at all my options.

Here is the link to look at some photos. https://imgur.com/a/YCLbHpo

I really do not know what to do anymore and If I am really capable to do this myself.

How deep can concrete go? (Our house was built in the 50s for reference).
