Building a Home Design Dilemma Bathrooms

Master bath vanity - help!

Would an 18x12 sink fit ok and look good over 24” cabinet doors or do I need to center it over the entire vanity which is 36” including a set of 12” drawers? I thought the sink should be centered over the cabinet but my builder is saying it won’t fit. TIA!

I think it would be fine. If you center it, you'll lose use of the top drawer. It also give more useful counter space to center it over the cabinet doors.

Rely on the advice of your builder. They know more about your vanity than anybody on Houzz and that is the reason you hired them.

Yes, my original thought was a nearly continuous mirror but the glass folks actually said, “we sell glass for a living but in your case more mirror isn’t necessarily what is called for”. Lol. They were very nice about it. So that got me thinking a bit more about the function of the space. We need more storage and lighting.

I don’t mind small drawers because I have small bathroom stuff. I suppose it depends on what you want in the drawers. If towels, they’d be too small. If makeup, probably fine. But consider one sink. Then each person gets his/her own bank of drawers on either side.

Just make sure that they then center or offset your mirror as you want it to be. Our sink is not centered in a our vanity, I assumed the mirrored medicine cabinet would be centered on the sink, but it was centered on the vanity instead...and then the tile went up. This was as per the original drawings, which assumed a centered sink.
