Help Me Identify Yellow Flowering Tree Please
Comments (2)No, It isn't a Fremontodendron, and its not actually native to California, either. Your photo displays the blooming Mexican Palo Verde, Parkinsonia aculeata. It has attractive smooth green trunks, thorny branches, and loves heat and is very drought tolerant, but a rather messy tree to garden under as it is constantly dropping the spent leaves, so perhaps is best used over planting areas and not as a patio tree. Similar trees with even greener trunks and the same bright yellow blooms would include the Palo Verde trees if the Sonoran Desert, various Cercidium species, but these aren't as commonly seen in more coastal California gardens....See MorePlease help me identify this flower tree.

Comments (11)coatfetish, that's a nice crabapple, I can smell it's fragrance all the way up here. I have a way to get the tree you want, take cuttings. This pic shows rooted cuttings of my 'Tina' crab. Knock on your neighbor's door and ask for cuttings. Do this around the end of May or anytime in June. The medium I use is 50/50 peat-perlite. I also use a rooting hormone. I put mine under mist and they are rooted within a month. Since you probably won't have access to mist you can create a propagation chamber, this has been discussed many times here. You could also use a cold frame, out of the sunlight and keep the top closed. PS, if you do this, don't take 5 or 6, take 100. That way you can keep the strongest ones for yourself and give away the rest....See MorePlease help me identify this plant with white flowers. Thank you!
Comments (4)I looked up both of them and I think it is the Orlaya grandiflora, I have the coriander growing out front but the leaves and seeds of this plant look more like the Orlaya. Thank you both!...See Moremmmm12COzone5
