Anyone put two faucets on one sink to provide drinking water?
Comments (12)Scpailmetto, I will check into those small faucets sold for RO applications but investigate running an untreated water line to that faucet. Thanks! ubiquityman, Thanks for your input. We won't be getting a RO system. Our untreated water tastes great (one of the bottled water companies even uses our ground water for their product). We just want to run an untreated water line upstairs to have drinking water on the second floor. I do have a bit of a related question. Do we run softened or unsoftened water lines to our freezer and fridge. I assume the water is to make ice cubes and would not want bad tasting ice. On the other hand, I don't want to wear down the freezer line prematurely due to hard water? Carol...See MoreAnyone into herbal teas?
Comments (1)Green tea is said to strengthen the immune system. Also ordinary black tea. I just checked Dr. Andrew Weil's website to see what he suggests. After sharing the CDC's recommendations for avoiding the flu, he adds: In addition, I suggest taking a daily antioxidant, multivitamin-mineral supplement, as well as astragalus, a well-known immune-boosting herb that can help ward off colds and flu. Also consider mushroom-based immune modulators such as Host Defense or Mycosoft Gold available through Fungi Perfecti (http://www.fungi.com) I must say I've never heard of the mushroom-based immune modulators. I've read that melatonin is good for the immune system, though. I take that often to help me sleep....See MorePlease, don't make me drink tea alone!
Comments (15)" hope Shades will be back, too. And ML." I do too! i'm glad you're back and that phoggie posted here! i'm glad to see the heat go - not that I want the really cold to show up... it can get down to 30 (or even less) here. that's usually only a few nights tho. but I have to remember to cover the pump when that happens! I am (just mentally so far) planning on what I have to do to move the printer stand/printer from the 'winter place' of the heater/fireplace. That'll come up quickly - I want it in place before eye surgery, so I'm not caught with a really cold night and no heater. the really cold ones don't usually come until maybe Feb tho. and I need to get my blanket out (ok, it's about 5' away from the bed). OTOH, things don't seem to go the way I think they should, so we could have snow in Nov - lol! And I need to be looking for a different vehicle. going to look at Honda CRVs, maybe 8 yrs old or so. planned to do that this month, but the days have gotten away from me. i'm going to email the local church to see if their 'ranch guys' can come here and put up a fenced area (out front) for my dog. It's right outside my bedroom window (so hopefully I won't forget she's out there) and the front door is close to my bedroom door - so not far to go to let her out and in - especially at night. I've got some fencing out there and my 'helper person' says there seems to be enough metal posts on the land that can be used to put it up. they'll just have to dig the post holes and put it together. They do this to fund the 'ranch' (halfway house down the road a way). my 'helper' has been sick (she's been having seizures) and has another job that has been hard on her, so she hasn't been by here to help lately. hopefully, she can get on disability. I don't see much chance of her getting a regular job - she's a liability to companies - as was I, when I had to quit working. They don't want to take on a known liability....See MoreTea anyone?.......
Comments (48)I started drinking tea in my baby bottle. Tea was the beverage of choice in my household growing up and even now. Growing up a pot was always on the boil with hot water ready for the next pot of tea, Red Rose Orange Pekoe then, now I drink unsweetened Red Rose Canadian Breakfast Black Tea with a drop or two of milk just to colour it or I drink it black. Not really a fan of herbal or flavoured teas but lately I have been drinking a mug of Twinnings Lemon Ginger Tea at night before bed, reminds me of a hot Canada Dry Gingerale with lemon. Don't drink any of the powdered iced tea mixes that come in a jar or tin, that tea makes me antsy and bothers my stomach. The only tea I will drink at a restaurant is Tim Horton's Steeped Tea, their coffee is horrible but their steeped tea is good but still don't like drinking tea out of a cardboard container. For me tea tastes best served in a bone china mug or tea cup....See Moreroy4me
