Glad you like it !!! moses , you are always so kind ! Gardening is my only hobby and I'm super fortunate that my husband works all day 5 days a week and my daughter naps 3 hours a day so I have extra time ! I'm trying to get it all into maintenance mode so her and I can do some fun things more often. Do you believe it's almost time for early preschool ? So I need to spend more quality time with her and less "games " out of digging holes ! Lol also even though I'm in my early thirties I have been gardening since I was 19 in my tiny house shared with my now husband. Boy the mistakes I made! And money wasted .. but I do think the Lord has blessed me with the love of gardens and all the learning that comes with it ! Ps Moses.. I ordered those amazing pruners you spoke of (okatsune ?) and they are incredible!! Are you liking yours ? i have seen his clematis in nursery and they are nice! I don't have any yet as I prefer the type 3 viticellas that take over the world . I'm sure I'll add some soon on smaller obelisk though ! Thank you ray gun !! I hope to see photos of your garden soon!!...See MoreNew Year Garden Theme Swap 2020
Comments (138)I got a question for ya, Seed Givers - I got a lot of those tiny ziplocks and my fat, calloused fingers just cannot open them. So I am transferring the seeds into other packaging until I can sow them. Some seeds I will have to give away as those plants won't grow in Florida, and I have a lot that will have to wait until September to sow for winter. So I need to know what will be the best replacement packaging to use to keep my seeds healthy and viable....especially those that will be waiting until fall and Christmas swaps and times to sow. I sometimes have terribly low germination rate and wonder if it's the way the seeds have been stored. What do you guys do?...See More...if you like Shiuan's garden in Japan...
Comments (17)Portland, OR, in the US and Sapporo on the island of Hokkaido, Japan, are sister cities and are located at about the same latitude. In Portland, we can grow things in containers year round without much protection...unless we have an infrequent but brutal arctic blast. When that forecast hits, gardeners here frantically water everything if it hasn't rained in awhile, and we run around tossing leaves over everything and wrapping all our pots in extra insulation or dragging them into the garage! Plants with botanical names ending in "japonica" grow well here. Carol...See MoreDecember 2020 Sacramento Cemetery Rose Garden Newsletter
Comments (61)i am in Texas but have fumed about this almost making myself sick. What I would say to those who destroyed such beauty would probably get me jailed. I dont know who did this......but would love to know where to write each one personally, if anyone can provide me with the information. Wont of course do any good, but just knowing I made my voice heard would make me feel better. I dont know about Tom Liggett or what he did or what part he played in this. I just cannot imagine what the "city staff" is doing with their time that they feel destroying a city landmark with such dedicated hatred is doing anything positive for Sacramento. Arent there problems to solve that are of greater importance than this? If any of these scumbags are elected officials, I hope there is a campaign to get them soundly beaten at the next election. Am so sorry I was not able to see this landmark in all its blooming glory; have loved looking at the photos over the year, at least that remains....See Morebayarea_girl_z10a_ca
