I like the Savoie Gray because it's different. Kitchens are becoming like Catholic school uniforms these days. The percentage of quartz in a product isn't an indicator of where it's made. I saw someone post recently that that's how you can tell, but some Chinese quartz companies do claim 93%. What no one really knows about the Chinese quartz is how it's made, and I have read several posts of the surface scratching and pitting easily, which quartz shouldn't do in normal use. Yes, the edges can chip, so be careful around your sink with cast iron pans.

Cutting or increasing a colour by a percentage is open to a great deal of interpretation. So it’s kind of a clunky approach unless you have actually seen the results of a specific colour being manipulated from a specific store and liked it. Does it mean somewhat lighter - but the same degree of colourfulness? Does it mean both lighter + less colourful? Whichever it is - you end up with a new colour - which you may - or may not like. You can however, create an effective palette layering white & off-white tones together. The secret? Ensuring the two ’whites’ look deliberate, by having enough contrast so neither looks dingy or dirty next to the other. This can be done by managing their difference in Chroma. (degree of colourfulness) And if they aren’t too close together in Hue, nor too far apart either, this also adds to the degree of contrast. I purchased a remnant piece of Thassos Pental White Quartz from a local stone store ( several years ago) that I used as a vanity countertop in my renovated bathroom / laundry room. It looks as great today as the day of installation. No yellowing , no chipping, no scratches. It is a true white.
