What to wear? Please help - I can't decide!
Comments (15)Thanks for all the great advice and insight. Lyra - you are spot on with the suggestion to choose an outfit that is "sit" friendly. No one wants to stand up and have diaper butt LOLOL! My hair is so short right now I don't have a lot of choices so, weather permitting, it will just be blow dried under. Long gone are the days when I could put it up in a French Twist. If the weather is rainy (a possibility) then I will go with the drowned rat look LOL! I have very fine straight hair and even the slightest humidity will kill any "do". BTW - what are the cough drops for - or should I ask Jessy? LOLOLOL! Alexa...See MoreI have my quotes and I can't decide.
Comments (2)Yes - the gap is where the old wall used to be. We are definately planning on using the hardwoods to bridge the gap by either robbing some from another place (like a closet)or putting in a threshold. I think I have decided to go with person #2. I like the idea of having one person so the work so we don't have to coordinate with different people and since she is a full time contractor, we can use her again for other stuff if we like her work in our house. We definately like what she has done in other homes!...See MoreHelp I have W/DAD! Can't decide.
Comments (9)>>If it would keep the door from hitting I would go with a stacked set moved to the left and just cut the shelves. I had rather have less shelving and better access into the house, but then that is just me. The door opens out so it wouldn't hit but it would severy limit my access through that door, especially when carrying things from the car. If I stack I have 35 inches to the door that goes into the main hallway of the unit (with that door open). The frigidairs (or friGEmores) seems to be the shallowest at about 28.5 in for the dryer. So I "could" put in something deeper depending on how much space I need to leave behind it for clearance. I thought about a Samsung, but they're expensive and look HUGE to me. I drew a diagram of the room, but haven't figured out how to upload it here yet....See MoreDesign Help badly needed- I can't decide on anything!
Comments (9)If you know yourself to be a 'wood finish' cabinet person, I wouldn't force yourself to go to painted just because it would 'look right.' You want to feel at home and like it's your room, not a stranger's kitchen that looks nice from afar. Although it's not necessary, including some painted sections or pieces can be fun. DH and I are definitely wood cabinet people, but we have some painted mixed into our kitchen and I love the combination and it's a nice change for me. And although I love them, it still wouldn't have been 'me' at all to have everything painted. The funny thing for me is that my inspiration kitchens were almost all painted white or cream. I just had to find what else there was about the rooms that spoke to my heart and try to emulate the overall feeling without the white paint. I think that if you take this out of the imagining stage and go look at flooring samples with cabinet samples, you can pick 2 things that both would be considered in the medium range, but that provide enough contrast from each other. Pcjs's suggestion for red oak, I think is a good one. Birch is another that is gorgeous and not too light, while being a good base for some pretty cabinets. There are so many choices and possible combinations. Don't despair. :-) Best wishes!...See Moretlbb
