Is riding a Bike really good excercise?
Comments (23)contrary to awm 03 comment, cycling does use abdominals quite extensively although it does depend on what type of cycling you are doing, I am currently a A graded racer with a elite racing licence, in the upper echelons of the domestic cycling scene, my coach prescribes intensive exercises focused on my abdominal muscles this can help in climbing, sprinting and also TT as having strong abdominal muscles is crucial to maintain a comfortable yet aerodynamic position for extended periods of time....See MoreDealing With Self Isolation
Comments (93)I live alone and Im getting really bored. I do have a cat but she is not much of a conversationalist. My middle daughter texted me yesterday to tell me that she and her children were going for a walk and doing a scavenger hunt and they wanted me to take part. It was great fun as we took pictures of what we found and sent them to each other. I cheated and did mine from the car as my knees are pretty painful and didn't think I could do much walking. We looked for and found: flowers blooming, a red car, an animal, a st. pats decoration, a cow and a farm vehicle. They live in the country so had no trouble with the cow etc. I did drive into the nearby countryside and was able to find everything. The animal I found was a goat which was really a beautiful blonde color. It was quite fun. I also received an amazon delivery today and it is a game called Kanoodle (brain teasing game) from the same daughter. My youngest daughter is face timing me each day so that I can see and talk to my little 3 mo old grand daughter. Sorry for rambling. Stay safe....See MoreFavorite quarantine lounge wear
Comments (46)I need to dress. A morning routine is very healthy for me. Up, exercise, shower, dress. If I fall out of that routine I can get cranky, and it can lead to depression. I also make it a habit to get outside as early in the day as possible, even for 5 minutes, It helps keep my body clock working. Several of you have mentioned wearing something because you are cleaning. Does anyone, other than me, use aprons? My granny would always make us put on a schmatta to work with her. I have bunches of them, and always throw one on when cooking, cleaning, gardening to protect my clothes, plus then if someone pops over(not likely during quarantine) I can just remove the apron and I am dressed nicely. I like the big wrap around style, below. See how the back is, so easy and comfortable! I make my gardening ones very full with oilcloth at the bottom where my knees will be in dirt...See MoreQuarantine, the euphemism
Comments (37)On 60 Minutes, last night, the interviews with a couple doctors at the epicenter were heartbreaking. Below the link is one portion. Warning you might find it upsetting. 60 minutes “Before coronavirus, critically ill patients often had last visits with their family before being sedated and intubated, the insertion of a ventilator tube. But, now, because of contagion, families aren't allowed in the hospital. Dr. Eric Gottesman, of North Shore University Hospital on Long Island, helped a patient say goodbye remotely. Dr. Eric Gottesman: I could tell that he was gonna need mechanical ventilation, be intubated. We-- I talked to his wife on FaceTime. We FaceTimed him all together. And then his wife sang goodbye to him. Very touching. And he-- he's still intubated, yeah. And there are lots of-- lots of stories like that. Lots of stories. FaceTiming and saying goodbye. “...See MoreDawnInCal
