Quarantine, the euphemism

One of the most harrowing aspects of COVID-19 is that once you are in the hospital you may have no visitors. That sounds unpleasant but minor until you rephrase it as, if you die, you will die alone and probably won't be able to say goodbye. Is this not correct? This is because they do not want family members to become infected and spread disease.


Yet, many people (most, I think), who test positive are sent home to isolate with their families, if they are not sick enough to require hospitalization. That certainly puts the family at risk but saves healthcare capacity.


It's just that it seems to me a sort of a logical inconsistency.
