Help- Bought Genuine leather- Flyer says Bicast!
Comments (11)Thank you all for your help. I know our current couch is Italian Leather. We picked our color from swatches and we were given the choice of a bicast gloss/wax. That salesman was wonderful in explaining leather and the differant grades. It was a wonderful set. Conditioning it regularly really does help. I went in and talked with the salesman this am. He stands by this set. He explained to me what wear i will see with it. He said eventually since it has a layer of coating, that, that coating will break down and you will see wrinkles on the bend points. He was quick to point out regular leather does this aswell. Unfortunately i havent been able to see this set as they dont have it on the floor anymore. I remember sitting on it some time ago when we were in the thinking process. We did go to another store this am aswell. We found another bi cast set. It was in a chocolate brown, i did a scractch test on it. It was more gloss than our set i would say. It did leave a scratch, showing a litter brown. I am going to take my chances with the first set i posted. I will spend the 200.00 extra for the bumper to bumper insurance. If it cracks, rubs, stains, rips, anything it will be promptly fixed. If it cant be fixed they replace the couch. Lisa...See Moreshipoo marking in house
Comments (5)There are some who believe that "marking" is a different issue than house training. That said. In my mind, it's all pee, it stains, and it stinks. Therefore, it's a "house training" issue. There "might" be a very minute difference between the two, but if it's happening, and the dog is an indoor dog, it simply must be corrected. The dog is three, you don't mention how long this has been going on. Theoretically, you have a three year old dog, acting like a three month old dog. He is doing what he want's, when he wants. He has breached your trust for unsupervised freedom. You have severely breached his training by allowing this to happen, beyond only one or two instances. The "prime potty" training age is between 3 & 6 months. Your dog is well beyond this age. You need to completely back up, and start all over in the potty department, and make corrections along the way. If you do not do this (and consider that it is only going to be temporary until the problem is fixed) it will never get corrected. There are three things dogs simply must have under control before having unsupervised freedom. They are: Teething, chewing and house training. Without all three of these very basic behavior successes, dog is just not ready, and must have every second supervision when not crated. Comments (27)Mrykbee and pandtkendall, thank you for your replies. That's great you found what you wanted on Craig's List. Nothing better than getting what you like at a price you like. Pandtkendall that's great you enjoy your HM sofa and enjoyed working with Duane. Here's to many, many years of enjoyment. I am comfortable buying furniture from a distant company. Thanks for mentioning Duane. I will look him up. I'd love to travel to his store in the near future. I bought a Classic Leather sofa and recliner in 1987 from a company in Southern Pines owned by two fantastic brothers Miller and Cliff Barnes. I never met them and did everything over the phone The furniture has seen heavy use and three large dogs over the years. I love the leather but I'm tired of the style. The sofa still looks good but the recliner is aging. My husband and I used to sit in the recliner together and then our 90 pound dog would climb up on our laps. I took care of the furniture and faithfully cleaned it and moved the cushions around. Maybe around ten years or so I had new insides made for the cushions. The sofa sits right in front of a big window with lots of light. There isn't any sun damage. At some point I tried to kill the furniture using 409 or water and vinegar to clean it but didn't die. (Not cleaning products I'd ever suggest). I have no idea what type of leather but it's soft and indestructible. I realize today's leather will not be as good as the older leather we have but we want our next set to also be leather. Again, thanks for getting back to me.....See MorePottery Barn Wells Swivel Recliner - what goes with it?
Comments (14)Soni owned 2 of these chairs and I'm not fat by any means and both chairs the metal base bent up then tore apart. The first one pottery barn blew me off. Thinking it was a fluke I bought another and same thing happened. It lasted a few years this last one but they are not supposed to break like this. Same happens with lamp they sent to my home. Has anyone had issues with these chairs? I was leaning back the other day it snapped and I fell backwards and hit my head on the floor....See Moreriellebee
